PSA: Just because you work with me at our studios doesn’t mean I’m going to share your images!

I know you see A LOT of different Gems in my private group, on my website, and here on my Facebook business page, and it can seem like EVERYONE that shoots with me has their photos all over the place!

The fact is that’s just not true! Clients of Amber Lane Photo have full control over the privacy of their images, and we never assume we can share them or share without gaining permission first.

If you decide to let us share your images once we finish picking out your favorites and ordering, that’s great! If not, that’s fine, too! They’re YOUR photos, and you don’t need to worry about us putting them online or anywhere that you don’t want them. We only share images that we’ve been given permission to share or photos that were taken during one of our “model” calls, which are ran specifically to take photos we can use for advertising.

I had a phone call with a client a few days ago.

She had booked me for a session some years back, and we were planning the new one she has coming up.

We talked about how different her life is now; how she had left a rough relationship, fallen back in love with herself and the things that made her feel alive, and even remarried someone who treats her the way she needs to be treated, including coming in with her for some photos as a couple.

We talked about the way she wanted to show up in her new pictures; safe, cared for, calm.

We’re going for intimate, not overly spicy. Comfortable. Real.

We wanted to include their hobbies, maybe even a few in her wedding dress. A little bit of everything they are.

This is the part of my work I feel especially grateful for, and it’s also the part I take really seriously.

Because a session like this shouldn’t feel generic. It shouldn’t feel like you’re being squeezed into someone else’s idea of what beautiful, sexy, romantic, or confident is supposed to look like.

Don’t get me wrong; if you’re an on-the-fly kind of person, I can catch you, too.

But what I’m really good at is creating a special experience, a special space, for each person or couple I get to work with.

I turn 40 on July 17, and I’ve decided I’d really love to fill my remaining June and July openings with my 40 Over 40 project.

So, quick FAQ:

No, it is not bo***ir unless you want it to be. Some women have done glamorous portraits, some have done cozy, simple, modest images on seamless backdrops, in dresses in the garden, jeans and a tee, whatever felt most like *them.*

Yes, you can absolutely buy additional images if you fall in love with them. But if you're 40+ and mostly want the experience, the celebration, the chance to do something for yourself… this project includes one print of your favorite image we choose for the gallery already. It’s one of the best (and only) opportunities I offer for that.

And about that gallery showing... I wish I could fully explain what it feels like to see your portrait displayed alongside other real, normal, incredible women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond. Different bodies, different stories, different styles… all standing together as proof that beauty, softness, confidence, sensuality, joy, visibility, none of it expires.
