After we emailed each other back and forth it just felt right and automatically I was comfortable with her.

The bridal bou'dr shoot is such a great gift for my fiancé and also for myself. My whole experience with Cate was just amazing. She just so down to earth and she makes you feel as if you have known her forever. She makes you feel confident and comfortable. I was extremely nervous to do the shoot since it’s completely out of my comfort zone, but I’m so happy I did it and I would do it again in a heartbeat! Every woman needs to experience this.

In my own words:
This gorgeous bride was extra special to me. I knew her personal story before the photo shoot, so it made it easy for me not only to know exactly how to guide her, but also what she needed at that time to feel safe and connected to herself. The greatest honor of knowing I did a great job is when I have a repeat client... After all, I had the honor of photographing her again for her maternity session last year, just a few years after her bridal session.

Do you find wedding planning fun ... or stressful ? One of the things I notice with so many brides is how quickly the months leading up to the wedding can start to feel like a whirlwind. Sometimes even overwhelming.

There are so many decisions to make, so many moving parts, and often a quiet pressure to make everything perfect for everyone involved. It’s exciting, of course, but it can also be a lot to carry at once.

That’s one of the reasons I love photographing bridal bo***ir sessions. The experience ends up becoming something very different than most brides expect.
Yes, the photographs are beautiful ...and many women love surprising their partner with an album on the wedding day.

But what surprises women the most is how the session itself feels.

For a few hours, the life pace slows down. You’re not answering questions, appeasing in laws, or coordinating plans.

Instead, you're being taken care of — by our hair and makeup experts, a relaxed atmosphere, music playing, Italian Prosecco flowing, and gentle guidance so you never have to wonder what to do in front of the camera.

"I'm so nervous"... is often the phrase I hear most leading up to the clients' photo shoot day. And i have to laugh to myself, because in reality ... this is the actual vibe here. 🤣

She was just taking a breather in between posing sets. But literally, this is how relaxed we do. 🤣

Why ? Because I understand that this is a very new/vulnerable experience for many. Im experienced to know what nerves do and what they inhibit. So I intentionally keep an environment that's conducive to you feeling comfortable, at ease, completely yourself. Those create the perfect conditions to feel safe to step outside the comfort zone. (And as you can see, it's comfort zone lol)
That's how we make beautiful art.

My gorgeous client was celebrating a milestone birthday. This was a special gift to herself especially for a woman who's been used to making tough decisions and rarely treating herself. This was her day to chose HER and honor her in exactly the way that felt right. We created a mystically-charged vintage vibe intimate shoot based on feminine power themes. All inspired by the ancient art of the tarot. I was so happy she honored herself and made it a birthday to remember.

Every so often I travel to photograph clients in other locations, whether it be their home, a honeymoon, or someplace we just choose to go.

In this moment, I was among a few dozen photographers in the middle of the Costa Rica Rainforest at a photographer educational retreat, where I was also a bo***ir instructor. In total I photographed 7 clients in Jaco.

Being hired by a fellow photographer to be *their* bo***ir photographer is always an incredible an honor, because .... well, let's face it ... we are all in the technical know. We are all perfectionists in some way. We all regularly lead and direct photo shoots ... and it can be very hard to let go because of that. She surrendered to this process.

So when photographers trust you enough to choose you as THEIRS, it's a really big deal.

This petite beauty is breathtakingly beautiful in the most natural way. She was quietly confident with a certain definable elegance. But I could also sense her sensual boldness. I designed the session to ensure all of that was reflected.

This is the first in a series I'll share , and I'll give more behind the scenes insights about the photoshoot in upcoming posts.
