Today and every day, we remember their sacrifice and honor the local law enforcement officers who work tirelessly to keep Culpeper safe, strong, and united.

We are honored to announce that Gregg Hoagland and Don Burridge with the American Red Cross will be joining us for the 25th Anniversary Culpeper Remembers 9/11 ceremony on Friday, September 11th.

In the hours and days following September 11, 2001, the American Red Cross mounted one of the largest disaster relief operations in its history. From the Ground Zero rubble to the Pentagon and Shanksville, thousands of Red Cross staff and volunteers worked around the clock, providing millions of meals, mental health counseling, emergency financial support, and critical care to rescue crews, survivors, and affected families. Their presence was a testament to American resilience and compassion during our nation's darkest hour.

Be sure to stop by the American Red Cross table during the ceremony to say hello to Gregg and Don and learn more about their ongoing mission, and thank them for their continued service to our communities! 🇺🇸

On September 11, 2001, our nation changed forever.

For many of our children, 9/11 is something they have only read about in a history book. They weren't there to see the smoke, hear the sirens, or watch the brave men and women who ran toward danger while others were running away.

That is why we must teach them. 🇺🇸

We have worked hard to bring our Community Heroes together for the 25th Anniversary of 9/11, and we invite you to be part of this special day.

This is an opportunity for the next generation to learn more about September 11, 2001, remember those who lost their lives, and hear from the brave men and women who answered the call to serve in the days and years that followed.

Let’s teach our children about courage, sacrifice, service, and the true meaning of being a community hero.
