This is accurate! I get a lot of joy out of snapping shots of my friends and family. Most could attest to a moment where they heard me say: “Hey, stop what you are doing for a second. I just saw something.” Maybe the light fell just right over their hair, or their eyes looked exceptionally bright when they spoke passionately about something they cared about. Trust that if I suddenly stop you so I can take your picture, it’s because I want to capture what I witnessed…the beauty of you. And I’m always looking too… “I see you.”

I’m October, I lost my best friend, my fur kid Maximus. Max was the last of three Huskies and Malamutes I’ve parented since 2005, including his girlfriend Raina, and his alpha Isis. To honor their lives and thank them for loving me unconditionally, I am fostering another Husky in need.

Faye was saved from euthanasia in an Oklahoma shelter and transported to Colorado by volunteers. It hurts my heart to think that this Light was so close to being extinguished.

The joy and healing Faye has brought to my life is unmeasurable as I grieve the loss of my fur kids. She is affectionate and bubbly. Her 2-year-old’s “Big Puppy Energy” requires an active furever parent to take her on hikes and a tall fence with a big backyard to stop any of her Houdini tendencies.

She loves other humans and dogs. Has great taste in music (she loves to hear her foster mom sing!) and her movie choices are top notch. We watched “The Professional” with Jean Reno the other night, and she dug it.

Please help this little girl by taking her home and loving her all her days. Message me for more information.

I suck at selfies. I never know where I'm supposed to look! Zsa'nee from Kymora Jaxson Photography is gorgeous as usual and Bill Brown is photo bombing us! It was great reconnecting with colleagues but I was still too sick to shoot at the open house. The norovirus kicked my butt for over a month. But I just had to get out of the house, so I left my bed for an hour or so and then ran back home ASAP.

I shoot online dating portraits! Since I met my boyfriend on OkCupid, it's been a personal goal for me to assist other singles in finding love. I do that by providing authentic portraiture of themselves they can use to attract potential mates. There is a fine line between showing a realistic portrayal of your best self and being fake or overdone. I find that clients are more relaxed when they can take some photos with their fur babies.

Armando Martinez from the Mando-Matic Studio will give us his recipe for a naturally refreshed look that keeps the integrity of expression, features and emotion.

Mando-Matic is a creative photo retouching studio where art meets the digital realm. From pre-production to imagery selection, Mando-Matic colors, corrects, composites and retouches images to bring out their visual emotion. I've had the pleasure of taking many workshops taught by Martinez under the auspices of my dearly departed instructor Efrain Cruz. I can't wait to brush up on some skills, especially using layers in Photoshops to change backgrounds. For whatever reason, I never really picked up Lightroom but would like to try another class to see if it sticks this time.
