Sweet little Cora Mae, it was such a joy to meet you! I've known your beautiful mama, Carsi, since we were just kids and I know what an answered prayer and a blessing you are to your family.

This was my first time traveling to do a newborn session and I've got to say, that she rocked it even if I was a little out of my normal flow being in a different environment. We used the chaise lounge for most of these and the prop shot was done on her gorgeous stained concrete with the kitchen cabinet as the backdrop. I couldn't have asked for a better set up considering our car was loaded down with Christmas gifts and didn't have space to bring much from my studio. ☺️

Did something a little different recently. My friend over at Meek Guitars builds custom guitars! Check out these beauties! He even crafted the amp from reclaimed organ parts. He told me that if you can draw it on a napkin, he can make it! Who is going to take him up on the challenge for a one-of-a-kind guitar?

Have something sentimental that you want incorporated? Bring it! The crocheted blanket in Forrest's newborn portrait was lovingly made by his grandmother and made for such a sweet little nest for him to cuddle into.

Your cake smash session includes 3 parts:

- Formal portraits in a nice outfit before we bring out the cake
- Cake smash including a cake from a professional bakery and all set decor
- Bubble bath to clean up after the smash

In respect for baby's shorter attention span, changing up the set and introducing a new element at the right time ensure that we get a great variety of portraits without losing the baby's interest!

They are called the terrible two's but I LOVE this stage in a child's development! They are head strong and know what they want. Their emotions are unflitered - when they are mad, they are REALLY mad, when they are happy, they are REALLY happy!

When you book a milestone session with me, know that I fully embrace your child's natural development! I will not expect them to be or act in any way that they are not naturally feeling. But also, I'm blessed with two boys who are polar opposites - one shy and quiet and the other loud and unapologetically silly. They have taught me how to make even the grumpiest 2 year old laugh and how to make the most reserved child feel comfortable enough to be a little silly with me! The prompt for this smile was "Who is the smelliest person in your family?" He giggled as he said "Mom!"

This lacy floral outfit from So Tweet Designs is one of my favorites for little girls! Since I have two handsome boys, people always ask if I will try for a girl. My answer is always "nope - I get to play dress up with all the girls that come visit me in the studio!" Not sure if it is any cheaper this way, but it is just as fun!

This gorgeous lady is welcoming her second baby this fall! This photo is from her first maternity session with me in 2016 and Jaxson's newborn session shortly after that. I love seeing these families grow!
