Why is photography so expensive?

from the outside looking in , it may look like a photographer only clicks a button on their camera.
But in reality there’s so much that goes on behind the scenes , especially with quality professional photos.

There’s
-set planning & designing(sometimes involves purchasing props)
-wardrobe planning
-time to converse with client about their vision making sure we fully understand to deliver quality service and product
-managing sessions if multiple a day
-session time
-editing/retouching post can take from 30/45minutes per image depending on how you edit ✍️
With 10+ photos that’s 300minutes of editing time. That we need to be compensated for ($18 being minimum wage that equals to $100+ already)

And that’s only what directly involves a session, not including
-equipment,
-experience(you want to book someone who has experience with posing , colors , places etc)
-editing & website subscriptions to make booking easier for clients and used to edit.
-Gas for sessions to and from

Photography is one of the few services that will last you more than 2-4 weeks. They will last a LIFETIME!
