Looking up at the Foresthill Bridge, the tallest bridge in California.

Built in 1973, it leaves a bold impression on the surrounding landscape, creating a bold contrast between human ingenuity and a rugged mountain landscape.

The Pipevine Swallowtail Caterpillar, making it's way up a stem from the forest floor.

The Caterpillar has bright orange spots on its body, which it uses as a natural defense to ward off predators. Interestingly, the Caterpillar feeds off Pipevine plants and stores toxins from the plant in its body, acting as another layer of defense.

This will allow the Caterpillar to eventually transform into a beautiful Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly, which is recognized by it's blue wings, often with orange and white dots.

Spring is starting to show itself along the trails at Black Miner’s Bar.

A field of green, scattered with California poppies, with one standing just a little taller than the rest.

The river and trees fading into the background made the whole scene feel calm and almost painted.

Spring is slowly returning to Cronan Ranch Trails.

The hills are beginning to green again, just like they were when I hiked the trails last year. This time, I was able to capture it with my new camera.

The perfection of the landscape, with soft, rolling grass, almost feels like I am standing inside a Windows screensaver.

Even on the busiest mornings, something always stands out

Tower Bridge in downtown Sacramento stood out against the rush of a weekday morning. Everyone is focused on getting to work for the day, but it's important to appreciate the details.

I experimented with selective color to isolate the vibrancy of the yellow bridge, while keeping the surrounding motion grounded in monochrome.

A Sunday evening sunset in Folsom.

Welcome to my first post of 2026! I am looking forward to bringing you more photography content this year.

This is my first post using editing software outside of the Instagram native features. I look forward to creating more interesting and creative photos as I continue to learn more about editing.

A hike through the snow at Donner Lake in Tahoe today. The scenery was beautiful, with the entire landscape coated in a blanket of fresh snow.

Despite the beauty, Donner Lake is known for the tragic tale of the Donner Party. The Donner Party were a group of migrants from the East that were traveling to California in search of a better life. However, in 1846, they became trapped in the heavy snow, leading to many of the members losing their lives in the mountains due to starvation.

Today, the area serves as a way to connect with the great outdoors, while memorializing the Donner Party.
