The morning of March 6, 2026 near Porterfield, WI. Fog giving "The Mist" vibes. I saw my first owl in ~7 years. This was also the same day my birth place was hit by a EF-2 tornado. And that was Three Rivers, Michigan. A tornado before that claimed the life of a 12 year old boy. The tornado after Three Rivers, rated EF-3, would claim 3 more lives.
Easily one of the spookiest mornings I've had.

Small to mid-size trees that were delimbed and in some cases, completely debarked. Also some grass scouring. This was in the parking lot of the Wrangler Jeans Factory in Hackleburg, Alabama. The southerly inflow regime was particularly violent at times with this tornado.

You know what I miss? Northern lights. Near Crivitz, WI during the May 10, 2024 G5 storm.

"Only the strongest survive." Only the toughest trees withstood the 90 mph winds that blasted through this section of forest along HWY 64 headed towards HWY 32. It occurred during the July 19, 2019 derecho, aka "The Great Blowdown of Northern Wisconsin." Northern Oconto County, WI March 28, 2026.
