Sometimes these night adventures doesn't go according to plan smoothly. We took the wrong turn in the dirt road and went off the compact dirt road and got stuck. Everytime we managed to get my car out of the dirt by putting rocks in front of the tire, it would get stuck somewhere else. After spending an hour of unsuccessfully getting the car out, we left our car there and started to walk to our location. While shooting, one of my tripod legs wasn't secured tight which caused my tripod to tip over with my lens and camera attached. Stupid f'ing me forgot to put on my lens hood on my lens and the impact of the fall chipped the front filter threading of my 24-70 2.8 lens. 😫 Good thing the camera was still functional so we continue to shoot through the night. When sunrise approached, we walked back to our car and attempted again to get the car out of the dirt without any luck. The front tires was unable to get traction with the rocks we placed in front of the tire and kept on digging deeper and deeper into the dirt. At that point, our chances of getting out will be impossible without any help. The tow truck company finally got us out with their Jeep 4x4. When I got home, the camera wasn't able to do an direct export/copy the photos out of the camera. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜. What an unfortunate turn of events!!! Things I learned on this night adventure - Stay off dirt roads with my non 4x4/AWD car, double check and secure tight my tripod legs, and always put on my lens hood. It's unfortunate that I have to learn these lesson the hard way but you live and learn. Good thing I have roadside assistance and accidental damage warranty that saved my a** lots of money!
