Can we just take a moment for this one?

For the haze hanging in the valleys.

For the way the light spilled across the mountains and broke into little rainbows in my lens.

For the dog who somehow seemed to understand the assignment.

For sessions that are barely guided.

For the quiet moments between directions.

For people who are allowed to show up exactly as they are.

No performances.
No perfect poses.
No pressure to be anything other than yourselves.

Just an evening in the mountains, a little wandering, a little laughter, and the kind of light that only stays for a few minutes before disappearing again.

That’s when the magic happens. ✨

I used to flip through Belle Lumière dreaming about my own work gracing its pages, but was never confident enough to submit anything. So seeing my own photographs printed here feels a little impossible in the best way. ✨

Thank you for featuring this wedding and trusting a backyard celebration with a full article alongside so many incredible artists.

Proof that meaningful weddings were never about the venue in the first place.

Belle Lumière’s Weddings Vol. 1 is now available for pre-order for a limited time, link in their bio. ✨

“We have already looked at these a thousand times and they keep getting better. My mom said, ‘It feels like I got to be there looking at these.’ Truly feels like we are reliving the day when we go through them.” — Jonni + Bryan

The art of wedding photography lies in knowing when to disappear into the background and when to step in with intention.

During the ceremony and the quiet candid spaces of the day, I don’t interrupt. My role is documentary: preserving the moments exactly as they happened, with all the movement, emotion, and honesty intact. But when golden hour arrives and it’s time for portraits, I shift into editorial mode. I guide gently, shape light, and create cinematic frames that still feel natural and alive.

The goal is always the same: a gallery that lets you fully live your wedding day in the moment, and relive it years later like a memory unfolding on film.

Jonni and Bryan’s wedding was the perfect balance of intimacy, emotion, and mountain light. Swipe through to see their story unfold. ✨

Cinematic textures and emerald dreams. ✨ This session was all about that painterly depth and atmospheric light. From the grand scale of the garden to the smallest details of satin and brick, every frame tells a story of its own.

Tired of “traditional” prom photos? Let’s make some cinematic magic. ✨

People ask often if sunset is necessary for artistic pictures. Sun haze and flares are incredible, but not required. This is 3:30 in the afternoon with passing clouds.

Scroll to the end to see me pose the first picture.

You’d never guess it was as busy as it sounds would you? With over 100 students there for pictures, plus a wedding and two engagements, they had Park Rangers as parking staff.

Trigger Warning: House fire - everyone survived

Yesterday morning at 5:30 AM, the silence of our neighborhood was broken. I didn’t see the fire start, but I was there for the sounds of the aftermath—the harrowing reality of a family watching their whole life disappear before them in the dark.

Living in a rural area, you realize how much we are at the mercy of distance. It took 45 minutes for help to arrive, and another six hours to truck in 20,000 gallons of water. But the damage was already done before they started.

My heart is entirely with my neighbors today. It’s a sobering reminder of how precious the safety of “home” really is.

Please hug your people a little tighter tonight.

I find magic where others find "mess." ✨

I don’t need the perfect backdrop. I like the shadows of heavy iron and the grit of an old train yard too. I was raised outside of Philadelphia.

Because art isn’t just in pristine locations—it’s about seeing the possibility in the everyday.

No mountains. No flowers. Still incredible. 🎞️

In Fredericksburg for the weekend and a little behind on emails, it been a busy week. (I promise I’m catching up Monday).

But I had to share this quiet little moment.

I love the big portraits people expect.
The dramatic light.
The movement.
The dresses.

But sometimes it’s the smallest frame that stays with me.

Hands brushing through summer blooms.
A deep breath before the next season begins.
A reminder that growing up happens in tiny moments too.

These in-between photographs always feel the most honest to me. ✨

What tiny detail do you always remember most from big milestones?

There is a specific kind of magic in the quiet.

Everyone tells you the day goes by in a blur. I’m here to make sure we find the pockets where time actually stands still.

Away from the guest list, the schedule, and the noise—just a sliver of window light and the weight of the moment. These are the seconds where the day actually settles into your bones. You don’t want to miss it.

Just a girl and a camera.

Standing on the edge (literally) to capture those heirlooms. A rare view of me at work, high in the mountains and catching the blue hour magic.

I understand that the world runs on behind-the-scenes footage and digital proof that you were there. But I’ve always felt that my first responsibility is to the moment itself. I refuse to break the magic of a client’s experience just to take a video of myself “working.”

I’d much rather be fully present as a witness to your story than distracted by my own.

Thank you to my wonderful client for catching this surprise shot and letting me see what that focus looks like from the outside. ✨

Portraits that feel like a daydream. ✨
A quick sneak-sneak peek from yesterday’s mountain elopement. I’m currently deep in the edit, loving the soft sunset haze and that effortless “presence over perfection” vibe.

Still swooning over these two and the magic of the Blue Ridge. More to come, but I couldn’t keep these to myself a second longer.
