Absolutely adore this family so much 🥰✨
These photos were taken over an hour from my house.
And I’d drive it again tomorrow.

Because every once in a while I pull into a driveway and immediately understand why a family never wants to leave.

The hills.
The tall summer grass.
The view they’ve watched through every season.
The little corners of a property that don’t look like much to anyone else, but hold years of memories for the people who call it home.
That’s what I love most about photography.
Sometimes the most beautiful location isn’t a curated field or a trendy spot everyone uses.
Sometimes it’s the place where your kids learned to run barefoot.
The place where your evenings slow down.

The place that already feels like part of your family’s story.
And those are the places worth remembering.

I think the best family photos happen when nobody is trying too hard

When the puppy steals the attention.

When kids find flowers instead of looking at the camera.

When the evening unfolds exactly the way it wants to.

That’s what I loved about this session in Nixa, Missouri.

Nothing felt forced. Nobody was performing. It just felt like a family spending a summer evening together while I happened to be there with a camera.

And honestly? Those are usually the galleries people love most years later.

Not because they’re perfect.

Because they feel like home.
