You’re not just hiring someone to click a button on a camera.
If you loved your photos, but you didn’t have the greatest experience, I haven’t done my job. You’re hiring someone to guide a timeline, prepare for plan A, B, and sometimes even C, and show up with the gear, experience, and problem-solving skills to make magic happen no matter the weather or unexpected tech issues.
You’re hiring someone who can calm nerves while noticing the real moments, make people feel confident in front of the camera, guide poses naturally, navigate lighting, and collaborate seamlessly with other vendors throughout the day. Someone who can ensure you’re making memories, and truly be where your feet are.
And afterward, the other 70% of the job, you’re trusting someone to edit your images with intention and care so your gallery tells your story beautifully for generations to come. Wedding photography is so much more than photos. It’s an investment in memories that will outlive the day itself.
That’s why I hold my clients’ wedding days so gently. Why I have the coordination meeting- in person if I can. Why I love meeting, or spending time together, before the wedding day during your engagement session or bridal session. For me, it has always been about the names on my calendar, not the numbers on my list. I hope when it comes to your wedding day, you choose a photographer who truly cares about you, your experience, and the meaning behind what we’re creating together. If they’re charging more, it’s probably because they’ve invested in securing everything their clients need so that they can feel even more confident in them. Invest in someone who is fully invested in what’s best for their clients and will walk away as a friend for life and not just a transaction. Because after all this is said and done, they’d love to be invited back - the best is yet to come.
