While in Porto, Coral and I went on a tour of the Duoro Valley.

What was meant to be a small car of up to 12 people ended up being a private tour with just the two of us. (Perks of traveling during the off season).

On the way, our guide kindly pulled off to the side so we could photograph some overlooks - and at one stop a dog came running out of the bushes towards us, skinny and with the remainder of a chain around its neck. The guide was luckily a fellow dog lover and had the dog hop in his van so we could drop him off at the local village. Coral and I named him “Porto,” and I frantically googled how I could bring him home with us.

Unfortunately, Porto had to stay in the village and our guide ensured us that the locals would feed him and that his owners might check for him there.

Porto was a podengo, a breed of Portuguese dog we found particularly adorable. These photos are of another podengo we met at a winery at the top of the valley where the family made us a lovely home cooked lunch and gave us a tour of their vineyard/cellars.

We’ve enjoyed a chilly but enjoyable three days here in Porto thus far. Our Airbnb is located in Rua das Flores, a lively street once a center of Jewish commerce that has only been revitalized in the past ten years or so. Our floor to ceiling wood doors open inwards, giving us a view out onto the colorful rooftops and distant churches of Porto. Our kitchen has an espresso maker for “un café,” as they call it here in Portugal, which we’ve quickly realized means espresso, not coffee. Café is enjoyed at all hours of the day and is incredibly strong (not a problem for us). The restaurants here open late and stay open late and we can often hear the below street musicians and nighttime performers from our little living room.

This photo of Coral spoke to me in black and white as I love that it brings emphasis to the subtle highlights on Coral’s face and cup of café. as well as to the reflection on the tile wall behind her.

The Portuguese’s plethora of tiles both inside and outside of buildings has not just to do with beauty, but also with temperature regulation as the summers are quite hot and the tiles can help protect the building from humidity.

Sometimes, the best photographs aren't necessarily perfect because of the light or the setting, but because of the moment displayed within; the side-ways glance from a proud grandmother or the look of pride in a parent's eyes as they celebrate their eldest daughter's Bat Mitzvah. Congratulations to this young woman on such an incredible accomplishment. It was a true pleasure to capture your day.

stole our hearts. From the incredibly kind people, enchanting music, delicious food and mesmerizing scenery, we couldn’t have enjoyed our time more.

These photos are just a few of my favorites.

** The famous . Fun fact, the Liffey Bridge is mostly commonly referred to as the Ha’Penny Bridge and received its famous nickname because it used to charge a ha’penny toll to anyone who crossed until the toll was dropped in 1919.

** The incredible , a violin and guitar duo, we were fortunate to stumble upon twice on both our first and last nights in .

** , known for its view and frighteningly narrow roads. Despite the rainy weather, the skies opened up just enough to give us a full view of the pass and we were treated with the most delightful . On clear days it’s said you can see all the way to .

** The reflections along the rainy shores of were beautiful. In the early morning the beach was nearly vacant minus a few lone surfers and a shivering tourist and her camera.

** The sun peaking through the clouds along the Di**le peninsula was a magical site. Highly recommend Slea Head Drive to anyone visiting Ireland. It was worth the car rental and was dotted with tiny stops. We got to hug a baby lamb, visit the historic beehive huts and view many other archaeological sites.

We hiked to the top of in , a total elevation around 1400 feet. Coral decided not to venture to the top with me and I ended up meeting a French woman named Pascal who refused to pass in front of me. When we reached to top of the hill, her friend translated and said she’d like to know my name and if I was alone. I said yes and he said she’d like to continue hiking with me if it were ok. Despite our language barrier, we communicated in smiles and photos while slowly experiencing the beauty of the mountains. A true act of kindness and one of my favorite memories.

I am always thrilled when a couple shows up dressed to impress and Charley and Tim did not disappoint. Despite the heat, they toughed it out in their awesome outfits and helped to create some truly beautiful images. From rainbow socks and scarves, to fedoras, we had a lot of fun trying different looks. I especially loved seeing in person the guitar pick Tim used to propose to Charley! The photo doesn’t do justice to the way it sparkles and shimmers in the light. Such a unique and special way to propose. 😍

Charley and Tim were such a pleasure to work with. Their photos radiate love, joy and color!

The couple chose downtown Frederick as it was the location of one of their first dates and it couldn’t have been a more perfect setting.

This shoot brought style, effortless posing, fun and rainbows. I can’t wait to share some more!

I had the absolute pleasure of capturing John and Erin’s engagement photos a couple weeks back starting in charming and ending in a small meadow close to . It may have been the hottest day of the year on record, but John and Erin were both troopers and naturals in front of the camera. Their love shone through in all that they did, from the gentle forehead kisses to some impromptu dancing (and singing from John) in front of Clarke Fountain. Some of my favorite moments were watching them walk with their hiking boots through the tall trees (a fitting picture given that John proposed on a chilly West Virginia hike back in November) and laughing as they frolicked through the fields of grass hand in hand. There are so many incredible shots from that day, but these are a select favorite. Cheers to a beautiful couple - wishing you both a lifetime of happiness and adventures ahead.
