“This is my dad — a man who embodies what it truly means to show up for others.
When he was a young man, he and his brother were in town when they heard a man screaming for help. A tractor had fallen on top of him. Without hesitation, my dad did what most people couldn’t — he lifted that tractor long enough for them to pull the man to safety. It cost him dearly. His muscles were torn and took a long time to heal. But he never hesitated, because that’s just who he is. A helper. A protector. Someone who sees a need and acts.
That same spirit showed up in my life when I was about 17, struggling to choose a career path. He pulled me aside and at first said ‘no’ — and I was upset. But then he explained himself in a way I will never forget. He told me to keep my options wide open, that I could do anything I wanted if I worked hard enough and never gave up. Those words changed the trajectory of my life.
He has always been there for me — steady, dependable, and a man of his word, helping me through the toughest days just by being present.
He is a man of deep faith who has transformed over the years — from rough and tumble and getting into trouble — into a man who is truly worthy of honor. A hard worker. An encourager. Someone who gives everything he has for the people he loves.
He has been one of the greatest influences of my life and I love him with all my heart. 💙
