There’s something about the quiet of a sunrise that makes the world feel a little less complicated.

This morning, everything seemed to slow down for a minute. The sun was just beginning to warm the landscape, the water was calm, and this beautiful heron moved along the shoreline with an elegance that made it impossible not to stop and watch.

Life is loud. It’s busy. We spend so much time thinking about what’s next that we can miss the beauty of what’s happening right now. The early morning light. The stillness of the water. A heron stretching its wings and taking flight.

None of it lasted very long, but I was there for it.

There are beautiful moments happening around us all the time. Sometimes we just need to slow down enough to see them.

Be where your feet are.

September + October are officially open for photoshoots.

I love a beautifully posed photo, but if you’ve worked with me, you know that’s never all I’m looking for. I want the laughter, the movement, the personality, the kids being ridiculous, the way you look at the people you love when you forget for a second that there’s a camera pointed at you.

This September and October, I’m opening up Mini Sessions for $125 and Full Sessions for $300 for families, couples, kids, seniors, pets, Halloween costumes, fall photos, or honestly, just because you realize it’s been way too long since you’ve had good pictures together.

And because we’re Elements & Ink and apparently just taking pictures isn’t enough for us, you can also add a 30-second cinematic film for $100. We’ll capture the little moments in motion, set them to music, and can even incorporate drone footage when the location and conditions allow.

Want to make it a little more fun? Add bubbles, streamers, sparklers, or colored smoke. Because sometimes a little chaos makes the best pictures.

You don’t need to know how to pose. Your kids don’t need to behave perfectly. Your family doesn’t need matching outfits. Just show up as yourselves and let me take care of the rest.

September + October are now booking.

STOP TRYING SO HARD TO MAKE EVERYTHING LOOK "PERFECT."

Somewhere along the way, photography and videography became obsessed with perfection. Perfect poses, perfect lighting, perfect smiles, everything carefully staged for the camera. But perfect isn't usually what people remember.

We want the laugh between poses. The movement. The personality. The moment you forgot the camera was there. Whether we're photographing people, products, artists, or businesses, we want the final images to feel polished without losing what made them real in the first place.

Because good photography shouldn't make you look like everyone else. It should look like you.

Turns out, we model too.

We recently had the opportunity to create this apparel for 88.3 WFEN, from designing the shirts to getting behind the camera and photographing the finished pieces. And when we needed a few models? Danny, our daughter, and I stepped in front of the camera too.

There’s something especially satisfying about seeing a design go from an idea on a screen to something people can actually wear. Then we get to take it one step further by creating photography that gives the apparel, and the brand behind it, some personality.

Huge shoutout to WFEN for trusting Elements & Ink Media LLC with the designs and giving us the creative freedom to bring them to life -- and BIG THANKS to Rockford T-Shirt Company for printing this flawless design on the apparel. 🤍

Whether you need apparel photography, branded content, product photography, or the design itself, we can help you build the whole thing from concept to camera.

We love polished work as much as the next person, but the images that stay with us are usually the ones that feel a little imperfect, a little gritty, and completely honest.

This recent session with RYA Morse Music and fellow soul artist Paul Forte was exactly that. There wasn't a lot of overthinking. We weren't trying to manufacture a moment or force a concept that didn't fit. We simply leaned into the music, the chemistry, and the energy they already brought into the space, and the camera did the rest.

That's the approach we bring to every project at Elements & Ink Media. I don't want your photos or videos to look like everyone else's. I want them to feel like you. Whether you're an artist, musician, entrepreneur, or small business owner, your story deserves more than generic content. If you're ready for imagery that's a little more raw, a little more cinematic, and a lot more authentic, let's create something together.

"I don't want a wedding video that feels like a production.

I want it to feel like a memory.

I want it to be poetic and romantic. I want it to feel like someone pressed pause on time and captured all the little moments that matter. The nervous smiles. The way my dad looks at me. My best friends laughing when they think no one is watching. My grandparents dancing. My husband reaching for my hand without thinking.

I want it to feel like an old home movie in the best possible way. Honest. Warm. Imperfect. Full of movement, emotion, and the people I love most.

Years from now, I don't want to remember what everything looked like. I want to remember what it felt like.

I want to hear the voices, the laughter, the quiet moments, and the chaos in between. I want to watch it and be transported back to a day that wasn't just beautiful, but deeply lived."

That's the kind of wedding films we create here.

Not because it's trendy, but because memories deserve to feel like memories.

"Professional photography is too expensive."I hear that more often than you'd think.

My question is always... compared to what?

Here's the reality: your photos are often the very first impression someone has of your business. Before they read a review. Before they visit your location. Before they pick up the phone. Before they decide whether you're the right fit.

People don't just buy products or services. They buy confidence.

If your website, social media, or marketing materials are filled with dark, blurry, poorly composed photos, you're unintentionally telling potential customers that details don't matter. They may never say it out loud, but first impressions happen in seconds, and they're incredibly difficult to change.

On the flip side, professional photography instantly elevates your brand. It tells people you take pride in your business. It builds trust before you've ever had a conversation. It gives your website, social media, advertising, and marketing the visual credibility they need to convert visitors into customers.

The truth is, you're not paying for someone to push a camera button. You're investing in how your business is perceived. Good photography isn't about vanity. It's about credibility and trust.

And trust is what turns someone from "just looking" into a paying customer.
If you've invested in your business, don't let average photos tell a different story.

Ready to show your business in its best light? We'd love to help.

Wedding season is one of my favorite times of the year. After delivering another beautiful wedding gallery, I thought I'd share a few photographer-approved tips that will make a huge difference in your wedding photos.

• Stand tall. Good posture instantly makes you look more confident and elegant.
• Choose a long-lasting, smear-proof lipstick.
• When it's time for the first kiss, hold it for about 5 seconds. It gives your photographer time to capture the perfect shot.
• Maid of Honor or Best Man... before family portraits, don't forget to politely move the officiant. Trust me, everyone will appreciate it later.
• Keep the first kiss sweet. Save the tongue for the honeymoon.
• Before portraits, take off hair ties, Apple Watches, fitness trackers, wristbands, and anything else you don't want in your forever photos.
• Give bridesmaids' dresses a quick once-over for wrinkles before everyone lines up.
• Keep a lint roller nearby. It's one of the most underrated wedding day essentials.
• Groomsmen, when your bridesmaid is walking or standing in heels, be her anchor. A steady hand can save the day and help her feel confident.

At the end of the day, the most beautiful photos come from couples who are present, soak in every moment, and simply enjoy their day. I'll handle the details so you can focus on saying "I do."

Let’s just say it upfront… photography sessions are $300/hour.

And no, you’re not just paying for someone to show up with a camera.

You’re paying for someone who sees the moments most people miss. The in-between stuff. The blink-and-you’ll-miss-it kind of memories that actually mean something later.

You’re paying for the time before your session, during it, and long after… going through every single image, editing, refining, making sure what you get back isn’t just a gallery, but something you’re proud to keep forever.

This isn’t rushed. It isn’t cookie-cutter. And it definitely isn’t “show up, snap a few pics, send a link.”

I put a lot of time, effort, and honestly a lot of heart into every session. Because these are your memories. And they deserve more than bare minimum.

If you’re looking for cheap and quick, I’m probably not your person.

But if you want photos that actually feel like you… that you’ll come back to again and again… I’d love to work with you.
