"Framework"
We orientate and build the structures of our lives based on the beliefs we hold. Just like the framework of this old bridge. It was beautiful, for years its strength and structure provided utility. It helped facilitate hundreds of thousands of cars, rushing around like ants from place to place. However, in the maturing process things aren't often static. We inevitably have encounters that challenge, or even completely oppose what we have clung to. This presents us with a fork in the road, stagnation masked by the marks of an aging structure, or maturing? Fight to hold on to the familiar, or engage with the paradigm shift? What works in one season may not always work in the next season. Are we willing to surrender, even if the cost is great, to let a structure be built to sustain greater capacity? Not negating the progress provided by what's been, but building upon.
As I've intentionally walked with Jesus and encountered Him in new ways, what I have noticed most, is how often the framework of my held beliefs need to expand in light of the grandeur of His Fire, His love, His mercy, His grace. I don't want to cling to the familiar for the familiar's sake. If Love was willing to yield Himself into the hands of His own creation, how much more the grace of God to empower me in the reception of that love and in my mirrored response!? I haven't been disappointed yet!
