This is a wide-field 24.7h image of M16, the Eagle Nebula, using LRGBSHO data from Deep Sky West, Rowe, NM collected between 24 April and 10 July, 2020.
The Eagle Nebula is part of a diffuse emission nebula, or H II region, with the bright region of active current star formation at about 5700 light-years distance. The cluster associated with the nebula, NGC6611, has approximately 8100 stars. The cluster's age has been estimated to be 1โ2 million years. [based on Wikipedia]
Processing: PixInsight 1.8.8-9, PS CS6 and starnet.
