Let them help.
Even when it’s slower.
Even when it’s messier.

Because what we’re really shaping isn’t efficiency - it’s them.

Creating beautiful core memories with our kids doesn’t require a perfectly decorated house or an extravagant holiday plan. Most of the time, it’s the quiet, simple things that stay with them - the cookies that were baked together, the way everyone lingers around the dinner table, the walks in the cold with rosy cheeks and full hearts. They don’t need much to feel loved. They just need us - present, patient, and willing to pause long enough to make the magic they’ll remember forever.
…………………….

I absolutely loved being invited into the Lilly home to capture their favorite Christmas tradition. Memories their beautiful girls will remember forever.

Make your home feel like a warm hug with a stovetop simmer pot 🍊

One of the most budget-friendly ways I bring a little warmth into my home during the cozy seasons is by setting a little simmer pot on my stovetop and letting the herbs and spices fill the air.

There’s something almost tender about it - the way orange peels, cinnamon sticks, and a few scattered herbs come together to make the whole house feel softer, slower and more like home. It’s a small, intentional ritual that helps us to slow down and savor the season.

Here are a few ideas of what you can add into yours:

Citrus slices
Fresh cranberries
Sliced apples
Sliced pears
Fresh rosemary
Fresh sage
Cinnamon sticks
Star anise
Cloves
Nutmeg
Bay leaves
Ginger
Allspice berries
Vanilla
Pine clippings

Just add the desired ingredients to a pot of water, set it on your stovetop and turn the heat onto low. Let the pot simmer for however long you wish, adding more water as needed.

Happy homemaking, friends. 🍊

There’s a quiet beauty in a family that holds tight. 🤍

The kind that weathers storms together, laughs until their sides ache, and knows when silence speaks louder than words.

Love like that doesn’t just happen, it’s built, slowly and tenderly, through shared meals, late nights, forgiveness, and choosing to show up for one another again and again.

These photos reminded me… home isn’t a place we live in - it’s the people we love. It’s the soft space where hearts grow close, where memories are made, and where belonging feels like a deep exhale.

May we never take that for granted, the gift of a family that stays close, even when life pulls hard.

Well hello there, November.

There’s something about November that slows the soul.
The air feels softer, the days a little dimmer - and somehow that quiet invites us home again.

It’s the month of simmering soups and second helpings, of blankets pulled tight and candles burning low.

It’s where gratitude lives, not just on the table, but in the way we linger a little longer, speak a little gentler, and notice the goodness in the smallest corners of our days.

Here’s to a November spent choosing warmth — in our homes, in our meals, and in our hearts. 🤎🍂

Garden season has just ended it seems, but I’m already dreaming of next year’s harvest - the hum of bees in the flowers, the smell of tomato vines on my hands, and the way the evening light stretches long over the flowers. It’s funny how a garden lingers in your heart long after the season fades.

Over the years I have just tucked little tomato plants in with the hydrangeas, garlic next to the rose bushes and fresh herbs along the walkway but I’m ready to expand to a proper garden next year. One I can tend to and nurture and invite little hands to sow and gather.

What are you excited to grow next year?

Dear little one, I pray we continue raising you to know your worth, lead with kindness, and find strength in grace. May you grow up rooted in love, confident in truth, and unafraid to shine exactly as God made you.

As parents, it can be so tempting to step in and rescue our children from every stumble, mistake, or misstep. We want to smooth the path, keep them from falling, and protect them from hurt. But in doing so, we can unintentionally take away the very lessons God may be teaching them.

Children need room to be free - to explore, to make mistakes, and to learn how to grow from them. When we allow them that space, we are teaching them resilience, humility, and dependence on the Lord. Mistakes are not the end of the story; they are a part of the process of becoming.

God does the same with us. He doesn’t shield us from every trial, but He walks with us through them, shaping our character and strengthening our faith. Just as Proverbs reminds us: “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

Let’s remember, our role is not to create a perfect path for our children, but to point them to the One who is perfect.

Some days, I go outside to tend the garden and end up tending to myself.

There’s something sacred about putting your hands in the dirt—like the earth knows how to hold your weariness. Pulling weeds becomes a way of letting go. Watering thirsty plants reminds me to take a deep breath and hydrate my own soul.
I don’t always grow things perfectly. Some plants wilt. Some seeds never sprout. But even in the mess, I find peace.

Out here, working in the quiet hum of bees and the rustle of leaves, I remember who I am. I’m not just growing food—I’m growing me.
