Sound up!!
~ The Starlings Story ~
I am still shaking and all riled up from what happened in the front yard of me and my husband Gary's home in Greece, New York on Saturday 12/6/25 around 12:30pm! I have been a professional wildlife photographer since I was born it seems like, lol! In my photographic travels, I have observed this enormous group of starlings from a DISTANCE… but have never ever been literally IN THE MIDDLE OF IT!!! 😲 It was made even more impressive as the black feathered birds really stood out in the bright white snow! I filmed some of it from my open front door, and when they came over my head/house I ducked and hoped they wouldn’t fly into my home through the open door, and I closed my eyes and squealed! I could FEEL the air wooshing and HEAR their wings flapping and them chirping and screeching… it was deafening! It was like rolling thunder with a breeze! The sky turned almost black and dark every time they swooped up into the air and there were so many birds that at times I could not even see the house across the street! How they didn't bump into each other doing that I don’t know! It was like watching a ballet or marching band perform in perfect precision and all in sync! And they kept on coming and coming, flying in from our overgrown apple orchard backyard! Then the mailman entered our street, and at first hesitated to even attempt to drive through this!! As you can imagine, the next day our house needed a good powerwash and my SUV needed a good car wash, lol! 🤣Sound up to experience MY crazy amazing experience!!
