Unpopular opinion: your baby doesn’t have to be under 3 weeks old for newborn photos.
If you love those adorable swaddled photos then yes, they should be under 3 weeks old. BUT, if you would like strictly lifestyle family newborn photos, these can be taken at any age or time that you are comfortable with!
What would a lifestyle newborn session look like? Documenting your new family member being held and cuddled from afar, the majority of the session. Very little newborn portraits will happen in a lifestyle newborn session as I will focus more on the whole family but I will try my best to capture a few, unwrapped photos of your baby.

As a mom and a photographer, the best time to schedule your first family photos are between 5-10 months!

Why? Your baby typically had great head/neck control, may be siting up on their own but isn't on the move yet making it the prefect time to capture their beautiful smiles before they know how to crawl, walk or run away!

I LOVE my job!

It brings me so much joy to see your little tiny newborn baby, swaddle them up, and capture such precious memories of your first week or two with your new family member.

It's such an honor to be welcoming into your home during such a vulnerable time and to be trusted with your family.

I take a lot of pride in my work: the wrapping, lighting, posing, angles and everything in between.

Being pateint with you and your family during your newborn photoshoot is also something I actually love doing! Becoming a parent or adding another baby to the chaos can be STRESSFUL and I love being able to offer grace and patience right in the beginning to let you know that the chaos is ok!

They’re only little once, and every milestone deserves to be celebrated.

Whether your baby is turning 6 months, celebrating a birthday, or reaching any sweet milestone in between, in-home milestone sessions make it easy to capture this season before it slips by.

I bring everything needed right to you, with two simple, timeless backdrop options: plain white or a soft beige canvas. There is no need to clean the house or worry about your space. Just prepare any props you would like to include and make sure your little one gets a good nap beforehand.

There is truly no such thing as too many photos of your children. These tiny expressions, the chubby cheeks, the way they look at you right now change so quickly. Babies grow, birthdays pass, and time keeps moving forward.

You cannot turn back time to take more photos or remember every little facial expression, but you can choose to preserve this moment.

Worried about the weather during your session? If it rains during your session, it's your call! We can wait it out, reschedule or play in the rain. These are your photos and I want you to be happy!

There’s something really special about photographing a family year after year. Watching kids grow, seeing personalities unfold, noticing the little changes and the big ones too, it never stops being meaningful to me.

But one of the most underrated parts of working with the same photographer over time is the comfort that builds. The kids don’t feel like they are meeting a stranger. They remember me. They trust me. That’s when the real moments start to show up, the genuine smiles, the laughter, the in between expressions that actually feel like them.

And honestly, the same goes for parents. Especially the dads. There’s no pressure of the unknown or wondering how it’s all going to go. You already know my pace, my style, how I guide you, and that it’s going to be easier than you think. That familiarity makes such a difference!

Over time, it becomes less about taking photos and more about documenting your family as it is, in a space that feels natural and relaxed. There’s a relationship there, and I don’t take that lightly.

Getting to be invited back into a family’s story, year after year, is something I’m always grateful for!

You may have new emotions and opinions and feel like people aren’t listening to your concerns, wants, and needs.

This is your new baby, your family, you should not only be comfortable but also call the shots.

Not comfortable leaving the house with a newborn? I’ll come to you! Not comfortable with posed newborn portraits? We can skip them! Not comfortable letting your newborn out of sight? Please stay close! Not comfortable taking photos under 3 weeks old? Let’s wait and focus on lifestyle photos.

I’m here to tell you that your concerns are valid and I promise to listen to you🫶🏻

Let's compromise! I know your parents are begging you to take senior photos for your just not that into it! Check out my "mini" option! Typically 30-45 minute session, one location and up to two outfits.

Mini senior sessions are a great way to compromise with your parents so you're both happy!
