Family photos, but instead of telling the kids to “smile at the camera,” I handed everyone PAINT. 🎨😂

Was this a terrible idea for their laundry? Possibly.

Was it an excellent idea for photos? 𝐀𝐁𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐄𝐋𝐘.

There was paint on faces. Paint on clothes. Paint in places I’m still not entirely sure how paint got to. 😂 And somewhere in the middle of all that chaos, they completely forgot we were even taking pictures.

They were just PLAYING. Laughing. Chasing each other around. Painting each other instead of the backdrop. Making a gigantic mess in the middle of the park and having the absolute best time together.

And honestly… 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟.

Your kids do NOT have to sit still.
They do NOT have to give me their “nice smile.”
And nobody has to spend 45 minutes yelling, “PLEASE JUST TAKE ONE NORMAL PICTURE.” 😂

Come make a memory. I’ll photograph the chaos.

The Huls family understood the assignment… well, the adults did. 😂🌷 The kids were much more interested in playing, exploring, and doing literally anything besides taking photos; which, honestly, is exactly how I like it.

So we leaned into it! Running, laughing, playing through the flowers, and sneaking in those sweet little moments in between. Add a cloudy San Francisco day and a Dutch-inspired windmill, and the whole session was giving tiny family adventure in the Netherlands. 🇳🇱☁️🌷

Family photos don’t have to mean everyone standing still and smiling at the camera. Sometimes the best ones happen when we just let the kids be kids. 🤍

Lindie really said “I graduated AND I’m gonna look unreal doing it.” 🎓🌸✨

The garden was giving, the light understood the assignment, and absolutely ATE this graduation session up. Seriously, how is anyone supposed to pick a favorite?! 😭🤍

The First Look Nobody Expected 😂👰‍♂️

Okay, this is hands down one of the funniest things I have ever seen at a wedding! 😂

Justin was getting ready for his first look, fully expecting to turn around and see his beautiful bride, Clarissa. 🥹❤️

Except… Clarissa wasn’t there.

Instead, standing behind him was his best friend and best man, Matt…wearing a WHITE WEDDING DRESS. 😂😂😂

The look on Justin’s face was absolutely priceless! Matt really committed to the role, too. 💀

I’m pretty sure Justin went from “Oh my gosh, I’m about to see my bride!” to “WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW?!” in about 0.2 seconds.

These are the moments I LOVE capturing at weddings - the planned, beautiful moments are amazing, but the completely unexpected, ridiculous ones? Those are the memories everyone talks about for years.** ❤️😂

Justin & Clarissa, your wedding was beautiful… but Matt may have just stolen the first look. 😂

Adaline decided she wanted a **CHICKEN-THEMED** birthday photoshoot for her 11th birthday... but there was just one tiny problem... 🤣

I don't know anyone with chickens!

So we got creative and used her adorable stuffed chicken collection instead, and honestly... I think it turned out even CUTER than I imagined! 🥹💛

Now I need to know...
