Today we pause to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a time to honor those who gave their lives defending the freedoms we enjoy every day and to remember the families who carry that sacrifice with them.

As we spend time with family and friends, enjoy backyard barbecues, and celebrate the blessings of this country, may we never forget the cost of that freedom.

We remember. We honor. We are grateful.

🇺🇸 God bless our fallen heroes, their families, and the United States of America.

Every shift, we face what most people never see—violence, chaos, pain, and the darkest parts of humanity.

Evil is real. We see it up close.

But evil only wins when good people stop showing up.

So we keep showing up.
To protect.
To serve.
To hold the line between darkness and the innocent.

The job changes you—but it also reveals who you are.

Been too long since I picked up my camera.
Relationships ended. Life got insanely busy, heartbreak, rebuilding, endless responsibilities. The gear gathered dust while everything else moved on.

We all hit valleys like this. Creative fire dims, motivation hides. It’s heavy, it’s real, no pretending otherwise. But those lows carve out the peaks that come later.

No more waiting for “perfect.”

If you’re in a drought too, creative or otherwise, this is your reminder:

Valleys make the comebacks worth it.
Grab your tool. Chase the light.
You’re not done.

It is with deep sadness that I learned of the passing of Battalion Chief Wilson of Riverside Fire.

Chief Wilson served with dedication and courage. His leadership, professionalism, and spirit touched so many in the department and beyond.

To his family, friends, and fellow firefighters: I offer my heartfelt condolences. May you find strength in each other, and may Chief Wilson’s memory continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps.

In honoring him, let us also remember the sacrifices firefighters make every day,often in danger, to keep us safe. Rest in peace, Chief Wilson.
