50 Thousand Words on Riverbank

50 Thousand Words on Riverbank Before I began photographing for the Riverbank News, I shot things I found interesting in town. Absent a place to display them, here's a page for you.

The term "A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words" first appeared in a 1911 newspaper, about the same time that Riverbank was first getting established. If that's still the case, fifty photos ought to convey a boatload of information about my new hometown, although I've been here more than 20 years. These images are moments in time captured from the day-to-day activities of Riverbank, California, resi

dents. Many are ordinary things, people and places, captured through the years from (hopefully) interesting angles, lighting situations and/or points of view. These photographs are from my Images of Distinction archives. Some are recent, some from more than 15 years ago. This collection was first displayed at the Riverbank Historical Museum to celebrate National Museum Day in 2012. A few newer images have been added since then. Occasionally, images might be augmented with similar photos from the Museum archive, giving a 'then-and-now' comparison. Hope You Enjoy! Feel free to comment or ask questions, as viewers of the first image have done.
