I was a little disappointed when it came time to scrapbook his younger years. I decided to put the scrapbooks away for the time being and get on with capturing those memories on film. With the age of digital photography, it became evident that I needed to "get with the times" and bought my first digital camera from a co-worker. I practiced and practiced, but never really liked the outcome. I bough
t a new Canon camera 9 years ago and loved it. My only problem was catching action shots. Every photo turned out blurry. My son became heavily involved in sports as he continued to get older. We have done soccer, wrestling, baseball, but his true passions are, in order of importance to him, basketball, football, and track. As I would go to games, being an avid scrapbooker, I would take a bunch of pictures in the hopes I would get some really good ones for the album. I noticed none of the other parents had cameras and I thought that was strange. Who wouldn't want to take pictures of their child's life events? So, I became the team photographer and started averaging about 300 pictures per game. I would make a CD/DVD of all the pictures of each of the boys at the end of each season. I needed a bigger, better, more action shot friendly camera so I went out and bought another new Canon Rebel EOS T2i camera. I have learned a ton since getting that camera and the pictures are turning out much better than I had hoped. My son loves the fact that I go to every game possible. Parents have gotten used to me being there and are actually bummed if I cannot make a game! I volunteered to be the photographer for our school football team last year as well. And, now I have some leads for senior pictures, weddings, and the volleyball team pictures this year. It has been an interesting start. I am in love with what I do and I hope you love it too!
