I keep coming back to the idea that the process teaches you what the work wants to become.
This photo has been on a journey. Digital image → gum bichromate → this poster for WKND of WEIRD Nashville.
When it came time to make posters for WKND of WEIRD, I had a vision for this, and I decided its natural extension would be copy (and a QR code) painted by hand.
There are faster ways to make almost every step of this. But I want to keep choosing the path that leaves fingerprints. Each small labor of love tells me more about what’s important to me.
If we’re inviting people into a weekend of making with their hands, experimenting, and following strange ideas that lead them to a deeper practice, it felt right that the invitation was made the same way.
