Riverlore Mansion
Over the next couple of days, I'll be sharing images from our photoshoot at Riverlore starting with the mansion herself.
Riverlore was completed in 1865 for businessman William Parker Halliday and family. After several owners, the city of Cairo took ownership in 1999 and eventually sold to current owners Matt and Mandy Endrizzi in 2019. Matt and Mandy grew up around Southern Illinois and felt pulled to be part of the revitalization of historic Cairo. Beginning in 2019, Matt and Mandy have meticulously restored this beautiful home and curated the perfect collection of furnishings and decor. The home is 4 stories if you could the basement, includes an amazing kitchen that I forgot to photograph, and a theater.
If you know anything about Cairo, IL, you know it was once a booming city at the convergence of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. After years of unsettle, the population of Cairo has decreased from around 15,000 to about 2,000 today. There are so many people working to bring the city back to life.
In my next post, I'll introduce Matt and Mandy and tell you how I became acquainted with Riverlore.
