Many professionals struggle with the exact same problem: How do I get more clients?
We pitch to strangers and send cold messages, hoping something sticks. We overlook the most powerful tool we already have my self included)!
Megan reminded me of this when she hired me this week.
We went to elementary, middle school and high school together, but we went our separate ways for an entire decade after graduation. When we finally reconnected through Facebook, there was no need for a high-pressure pitch or a formal introduction. The foundation of trust and mutual respect was already built years ago.
If you are trying to grow or secure your next referral, the solution might not be expanding your network. It might be deepening it.
Instead of trying to meet dozens of new prospects this week, try reaching out to a few people from your past. Reconnect, find out what they are working on, and see how you can support them.
Opportunities flow naturally when you stop treating networking like a numbers game and start treating it like a community.
Thank you, Megan, for the trust and for bringing our story full circle with the edgy vibes and giggles!
