The wind is a constant factor here in the desert. Most of the time you just have to deal with it and make it work. Then every once in a while, you just have to grab your friend, throw on a flowy dress and turn it around so now the wind is working for you! We were just wrapping up my Aviator Mini Sessions and I couldn’t let that light go to waste. Lucky for me, I have the best “assistant”!

My goal is not to have a “one size fits all” session for my Seniors. Every Senior clients has something that sets them apart. Whether it’s their personality, hobbies or their aspirations. I want that to shine through in their photos. In this case, a quiet sophistication with classic, timeless portraits was the name of the game.

Don’t get me wrong… I love me a good “Christmas” card photo smiling at the camera but let’s be honest, you can only get so many genuine smiles that way. Add three boys into the mix and there’s no way we are standing around! I’ll never expect perfectly posed behavior from kids, it’s just not natural.

Oh and can we just take a moment of appreciation for these flowers and Mountain View’s?!

Watching someone go from a little boy who loves catching bugs to a young adult about to attend West Point has been one of the coolest experiences. It may make me feel older at times but seeing the children of your friends grow and accomplish such amazing things has been one of the best parts of being an adult. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for him!

It’s ALWAYS the right time to take family photos.

Take a look through all these beautiful photos and don’t miss the last photo to see what most the session actually consisted of!

Busy schedules (even more reason to not delay, time flies)
Kids are in the “tough” phase (we roll and work with it!)
I don’t like how I look right now (your kids do not care)

These are the most common concerns I hear from clients about booking a session. And while they all might be valid, they are all more reasons for capturing your lives right now, as they are.
