I’m thrilled to have a photo out in the recently-released book from entitled “Protest: Respect It, Defend It, Use It,” by and .

The photo (p. 242 if you have the book!) is of a banner that my friends with (shoutout , , ) hung on Yosemite’s iconic El Cap mountain in 2024, which and I did ground support for. No book on protest published in 2026 could be complete without protests against genocide, and - given their climbing history - what better way for Patagonia to share those protests than with this story of Palestinian and Jewish climbers!

It was an honor to have this photo included, to get to do author photos for Annie and Andre, to join them (and the brilliant and ) on a panel re: cultural organizing at book launch event in the Bay, and to have a slideshow of my photos accompany the book as they go on tour. And shoutout for bringing his always gorgeous screenprinting to these events. Thank you people who took these photos - apologies I lost track of photo credits (DM me and I’ll add it!).

CONGRATS Annie and Andre, and thank you for this beautiful contribution to our movements.

Thousands of SFO workers - joined by elected officials, labor leaders, and community members - shut down the departures drop off to SFO international airport this afternoon. Greedy airlines make billions exploiting immigrant workers while backing the MAGA agenda to fund ICE terror. Demand that United Airlines pay workers a living wage and that all airlines end support for ICE abductions at SFO.

My latest story for Movement Generation is out in Earth Island Journal today! Read it at bit.ly/eij-herring

The piece shares the story of the indigenous women-led Herring Protectors of Sheet’ká, Alaska and their “ceremony as sovereignty, or ceremony as resistance” strategy to defend their sacred herring.

It was such a privilege to be invited by Herring Protectors to their Yaaw Koo.éex’ last year and to explore with them through this piece what other communities might learn from putting sacredness and reverence at the heart of their struggles to protect what they love.

Gunalchéesh Khasheechtlaa Louise C Brady, Naawéiyaa Tagaban and many more. If you’re moved by the work of these incredible land and water protectors, please follow and donate to the Herring Protectors at or herringprotectors.org.
