Finally got around to uploading these! Here's some photos from when Isabel, my parents, and I went to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Richmond, VA the other weekend. Most of the garden was in full bloom!

Some photos from Isabel's and my trip to Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown. Didn't have my tripod with me, so no selfies, but got some great landscape shots!

For the first time in a while, I was able to get out and take some photos around my new apartment today!

Brood X cicadas emerged today, and I wanted to see them while they were getting going. I also got lucky and stumbled onto a pick-up baseball game, so I was able to try my hand at action shots.

Took the day off for my 27th birthday (wow, feeling old saying that) and decided to head down to the National Mall since it's the first day of the year above 60 degrees.

Really beautiful day, and without tourists in town, you get a lot of space to yourself! I'll have to head over to the Arboretum once the leaves and flowers start showing up.

I got back into DC the other night. Today, I decided to scooter down to the White House to see how things were down there. I spotted some really amazing new artwork and protest posters lining Black Lives Matter Plaza as well as the fence around Lafayette Square.

Went down to the area around the White House following two nights of George Floyd/Black Lives Matter protests. If they keep going on, I may go back to get some of the actual protests and not just the aftermath.

I visited the Smithsonian zoo on the day before it closed due to concerns about COVID-19 (coronavirus). There were noticeably fewer people, especially for as beautiful of a day as it was.

Got some great pics of the lions and tiger though.

My mom and I spent the day visiting the National Botanical Garden for its 200th anniversary.

A good day to admire the flowers because it was freezing cold and windy outside!

Mayor Pete came to speak in Northern Virginia last weekend. Despite being way in the back of the crowd and a lot of tall people, I got a few pretty good photos.

My parents and I went to the Manassas battlefield today. This field was the site of the first true battle of the Civil War.

On one side: General McDowell directed the Union troops. On the other: General Johnston and General P.G.T. Beauregard led the Confederates.

Tried my hand at something I hadn't before: portrait and staged photos. Decided to go with my parents and take some western style photos.

You can tell that my dad has far more experience than me at this!

My first time at a Wreaths Across America event and I've got to say, this may be my favorite event in D.C. It was amazing to see so many people show up early on a cold and foggy Saturday morning to honor our nation's troops.

It really puts the number of graves in perspective when you are placing individual wreaths at them. I probably place around 15-20 but there were still so many.

It was also wonderful to talk with so many Veterans, families of fallen soldiers, and community members. They all have great stores about what brought them here and why they keep coming back year after year. I know I'll be coming back in 2020!
