Just back tonight from Warsaw, VA's inaugural Northern Neck Arts Festival with a very surprising "Best In Show" award which also came with a handsome check. I leave tomorrow AM to set up at the Under The Oaks Art Festival in the northern section of the OBX next to the Corolla lighthouse for a 2 day exhibition. Busy week!

This award was a great way to start the spring exhibition season! Thanks so much to the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce for this honor and for recognizing my work this past weekend. This local group is a nonprofit organization that promotes the much needed tourism, which feeds a majority of all of the local businesses. Having been a small business owner my self since 1996, I admire and appreciate their efforts. They get very little financial support from the government, so they run special events to support their efforts. The Easter Decoy Festival is only one of their annual events. Others include the Chincoteague Seafood Festival, the Annual Pony Swim. Chincoteague has been one of my favorite places since my childhood, and still is to this day.

Just FYI - The Fall Occoquan Arts and Crafts Festival is CANCELLED, due to the pending weather... Nice to have an unexpected weekend off. Next weekend (Fri, Sat & Sun) is the Neptune Festival at Va Beach, VA.
