I had the pleasure of capturing this family’s photos last winter. Angela explained that she had spent many years as a single mom and photo sessions weren’t in her budget. She recently married the man of her dreams and was thrilled for the opportunity to have photos taken of their beautifully blended family. The week of her shoot, we checked the weather daily because it looked like rain might ruin their opportunity. Finally, the day came and it poured and poured and poured. We discussed moving the session indoors because no matter what, she wanted the session to happen. We saw there was a break in the weather so we readjusted our timeslot and booked it to the location. It was COLD, it was muddy and it was damp but she was walking on air. Nothing could steal her joy. She mentioned her husband, Josh, thought she was nuts for keeping their appointment. I could tell he thought it was insane...it was SO COLD and the wind was STRONG.. but he went right along with it all. Eventually, the love they shared as a family, was enough to keep them warm. At the end of the session, I gave them a few sneaks from the camera and Josh admitted that despite the freezing weather, it was worth it.
This past Saturday, their family suffered a tremendous loss. Josh, lost his life as he heroically saved two of their boys from drowning. As you can imagine they are heartbroken and devastated.
Please consider donating to help this family as they try to move on without their soulmate and father.
