10 years! Today is my 10-year anniversary.

I decided to feature a few pictures over the next few days from 2023 that I feel are noteworthy.

This is the first one. This image not only represents a Thomas Dale graduate continuing her education at VCU; it represents a family legacy.

Her grandmother worked 22 years at the Maggie Lena Walker "St. Luke Penny Savings Bank." She started working there at the age of 15 as a part time pool teller, then she got her banking education at UVA being promoted as the officer of the bank.

I always decide on locations to photograph based on the personality and characteristics of the person I'm photographing. I decided on the Maggie Walker monument only to find out that her grandmother worked there for years. Her mother was flooded with emotions and so was I.
