Little River Canyon National Preserve is considered the heart of whitewater kayaking in Alabama.

Almost completely rain-fed, the Little River Canyon is typically navigable from November through April. The whitewater stretch below the 45-foot falls has been used by Olympic athletes to train—but also offers calmer waters for beginners.
