Being part of Haile and Clayton's wedding as a bridesmaid already meant so much. Getting to step behind the camera for a few parts of their afternoon made it even more personal.

The phrase of the day was, “It’s about time.”

Not from one person.

From everyone.

Friends saying it.

Family saying it.

People stopping Jill and Dylan throughout the reception to say it again.

“It’s about time.”

Jill and Dylan have known each other since they were little.

By the end of the night, it felt like an entire room full of people had been waiting for this wedding right alongside them.

The photos couples end up loving most are rarely the ones they planned for.

It’s not always the perfectly posed portrait.

Sometimes it’s your dad seeing you for the first time.

Your bridesmaids reacting from across the room.

The flower girl exploring the ceremony flowers while guests are arriving.

Your grandparents holding onto you just a little longer during the reception.

The truth is, you can’t be everywhere on your wedding day.

You’re getting married.
You’re hugging people.
You’re trying to stay present.

Meanwhile, hundreds of small moments are unfolding around you.

That’s the real value of great wedding photography.

Not just documenting what happened.

Preserving the parts of the day you never got to see.

And years from now, those unexpected photographs are often the ones that mean the most.

A cloudy day at the Botanical Garden somehow ended up feeling like the perfect fit for Elise & Hayden.

Everything about this session felt calm, effortless, and romantic in the best way. The gardens, the stone textures, the movement in her dress, all of it came together beautifully.

I photographed Elise’s sister’s wedding a few years ago, so getting to document another chapter for their family feels really special in the best way. Already counting down to next spring for these two. 🤍
