My love of nature inspired me to pick up a camera to record all the beautiful places I managed to visit. The Marine Corps took me from growing up in Ohio, to landing on the tropical islands of Cuba and Guam, to settling on the coast of North Carolina. For all the oceans and sand I’ve lived near, the call of the mountains and woods always beckons. My happy place comes from hiking inside the canopy
of trees for hours and suddenly emerging into the open, seeing the beauty of the landscape for miles, or rounding a bend in the trail to come upon the swift thundering water cascading over rocks in a creek or river. For me, there’s nothing quite so spectacular as the serenity of the woods. As I got older and my family expanded, my photos turned to family vacations, cute kid smiles, and the long days of travel soccer and basketball. It became a challenge to freeze the action of the shot on goal or the contested three point basket. Now the kids are getting ready to leave the nest, and I find myself with more time to enjoy nature again, as well as take photos of other families and friends, so my business was born. The years of taking photos for my own memories allowed me to gain the experience necessary to provide those same special moments to others. While I still escape to the woods when I can, I find great satisfaction in bringing joy to families by capturing special kid smiles and milestone achievements.
