Snow Photography When choosing a photographer, you need to make sure you're getting someone who knows photography. Ask what camera they use. What editing software they use.

Ask if they know the rule of thirds, if they shoot manual, auto, or some hybrid of the two. I've been taking pictures since the mid 1980's (Nearly 30 years of photography). Landscape, sports, wedding, family, special events, fireworks, lightning, you name it . . . I've probably shot it. My main camera is the Canon T4i, and most time I shoot in what is called Aperture priority, and take a RAW and JPG picture at the same time. RAW allows more flexibility when it comes time to edit the pictures. RAW is basically a digital negative (going old school there if you don't know what a negative is.) My editing is done with Photoshop. In most cases I'll edit and provide 3 formats of the picture. One formatted to print 4x6, one to print 5x7, and one to print 8x10. Because of how todays' world works (aka digital mediums), I don't hard print any pictures, but provide them to you on a CD with a print release.

New Pool, Raising the R, Motel/bank, townhomes, State consolidated building, Axiom, Snow South Addition.
Richfield Pool: Light poles are now up in the parking lot, they are still working on sidewalk and gutter on the East side.
Raising the R: From a steel wall to an actual R. Should have the lighting ceremony next week.
Motel/Bank: Won't update until construction starts again.
Townhomes: Work on the driveway and the sidewalk that will be on 800 s.
State Building: Looked like plumbing was put in, and they started to backfill the foundation.
Axiom: All the heavy equipment is gone from the site. No pictures till they start working again.
Washburn building: My google skills tell me it's going to be a 5,000 foot addition to the building, along with a little plaza for events and new landscaping. Mostly just moving dirt right now.

Richfield Pool: Looks like they will be putting sidwalk and gutter on East side of the building.
Raising the R: No longer looking like an "R" but a steel wall.
Motel/Bank: Won't update until construction starts again.
Townhomes: Work on the driveway and the sidewalk that will be on 800 s.
State Building: Work continues on the foundation of the main building. Forms removed from foundation.
Axiom: All the heavy equipment is gone from the site. No pictures till they start working again.

Richfield Pool: Didn't really see anything new or different outside.
Raising the R: If you look up at it from College avenue by the swimming pool. It is really looking like an R now.
Motel/Bank: Won't update until construction starts again.
Townhomes: Work on the driveway and the sidewalk that will be on 800 s.
State Building: Concrete was poured for the foundation of the new building and a water or sewer line was put in.
Axiom: All the heavy equipment is gone from the site. Not sure what's going on.

A couple of pictures to get your attention

At Tuesday nights city council meeting, I have a feeling they all knew why I was there.
They are making sure the pool is done right, not just done. The council was told that they found a problem with some of the pool deck, and some of it is in the process of being removed, and determining how much needs to be removed so it can be re-done.
There was a joke about when it would be done, so I made a joke about what I would put here --- to a resounding chorus of NOOOO don't do that.
So I'll just say, the work contines. More importantly inspections continue to make sure it's what was promised.
No I don't have a date for completion. A lot depends on what they find as they inspect the work.

Richfield Pool: Most of the doors and window are in. still missing a few. Missing the light posts in the parking lot. Still stuff going on inside.
Raising the R: last update on their page -- now they will have it up and running in October for senior game.
Motel/Bank: Won't update until construction starts again.
Townhomes: The sidewalk and gutter on the west side is finished. Work continues on the east side of the driveway.
State Building: work continues on the foundation of the new building. Cement has been poured for the foundation of the little addition to the existing building.
Axiom: Didn't see anything that had been done this week. However it looks like my pictures and video will be the back of the building. It's the only safe place to fly the drone where I can get pictures.

I reached out to Mayor Burrows to see an estimated completion -- but haven't got any replay. I also reached out to Council Member Arrington -- he wasn't aware of a completion date and implied he'd ask at Tuesday's council meeting. I'm planning to attend as it stands right now.

Richfield Pool: Most of the activity is taking place inside and on the East side of the building. Working on the heating and air duct system on the East side. Still missing some doors and windows.
Raising the R: Up there working on it today while I was flying the drone. So I did a picture zoomed in as far as the drone would go.
Motel/Bank: Won't update until construction starts again.
Townhomes: They have finished some cement work on the west side, and framed in on the east side.
State Building: Starting to see the footprint of the building and the overall shape. Can see the footprint of the little addition to the building that is there.
Axiom: Starting to bring some dirt on site, and mover other dirt around.

Richfield Pool: Can't really see anything new on the outside. This project will be wrapping up in the next few weeks.
Raising the R: Doesn't look like anything new after the support stands were installed. this project will be rapping up in the next few weeks as well.
Motel/Bank: Won't update until construction starts again.
Townhomes: Looking at the picture this week. Those who buy these townhomes better be able to fit all their vehicles in the garage and driveway. Doesn't look like there will be any parking on the side of the "road" going in.
State Building: Starting to see the footprint of the building and the over all shape.
Axiom: They have started to clear the lot for the condominiums.

Better late than never. Isn't that the old saying. Windows update killed my video editing software -- so I've been trying a new one until things get resolved completely. Only the pool on this one. I'll have a second one with the new state building soon.
