Snow Photography

Snow Photography When choosing a photographer, you need to make sure you're getting someone who knows photography. Ask what camera they use. What editing software they use.

Ask if they know the rule of thirds, if they shoot manual, auto, or some hybrid of the two. I've been taking pictures since the mid 1980's (Nearly 30 years of photography). Landscape, sports, wedding, family, special events, fireworks, lightning, you name it . . . I've probably shot it. My main camera is the Canon T4i, and most time I shoot in what is called Aperture priority, and take a RAW and J

PG picture at the same time. RAW allows more flexibility when it comes time to edit the pictures. RAW is basically a digital negative (going old school there if you don't know what a negative is.) My editing is done with Photoshop. In most cases I'll edit and provide 3 formats of the picture. One formatted to print 4x6, one to print 5x7, and one to print 8x10. Because of how todays' world works (aka digital mediums), I don't hard print any pictures, but provide them to you on a CD with a print release.

Between wind, rain -- and the day job (you know, the one that pays the bills and let me do fun things like this) only two pictures and no video this week. One of them is a new project where I was asked why I wasn't doing pictures of something. Soooooo away we go.
This weeks pictures - Nights inn/bank, Raising the R
Nights Inn - They have started to remove the L shaped building. I'm thinking by next week it will be gone.
Raising the R -- They are installing a large letter "R" on the hill above Richfield. Most of the footings are in. (With any luck, the birds in the area where I take the picture will stop thinking my drone is an intruder that needs to be attacked!)

This weeks pictures -- Richfield Pool, 800 s townhomes, Nights Inn/Bank
Richfield City Pool -- They are slowly filling in the hole where the old pool was. Layer of dirt, then they water it for a couple days, then another layer of dirt. Another peek inside.
800 s townhomes --They now have the front doors installed (only doors missing are the garage doors). Shingles also on the room now.
Nights Inn/Bank: Nothing with the heavy equipment this week. Couple times saw different pick up trucks inside the fence with people walking around.

This week: Three Video's.
Pool portion - first part is every three weeks, then the end is every two.
Town homes - hard to believe but each segment is just a week apart
Hotel: First segment from February. Then the next two are only two days apart. Then one a week.

This weeks pictures -- Richfield Pool, 800 s townhomes, Nights Inn/Bank
Richfield City Pool -- All but about a foot of the old pool has been filled in. Not much new on the outside, but I did get a little different angle on the inside (going to suck when they get the last few panels up and close off the hole).
800 s townhomes --This week they have all the windows/sliding glass doors on the west side, and all but a few windows on the east side. Couple hours after I took the picture/video -- as I rode by on my bike, a bunch of the felt on the roof had come loose and looked ready to blow off.
Nights Inn/Bank: Looks like the hole from the main building has been filled in. I've been told now that they "L" building will be coming down. I mused that they should build the bank on the South West corner, remodel the rooms and have a small hotel and bank on the lot. Oh well so much for dreaming right?

This weeks pictures -- Richfield Pool, 800 s townhomes, Nights Inn/Bank
Richfield City Pool -- From the outside and inside not much change this week. They are almost finished filling in the hole where the old pool was
800 s townhomes --Lightning speed on the townhomes. No real change outside from last week. Packs of shingles stacked on the roof, and could see what looked like plumbers truck.
Nights Inn/Bank: I really though parts of the "L" rooms would be gone this week. But still just working on where the main old building used to be.
(no video this week where there were no real changes on any of the three sites)
