Snow Photography

Snow Photography When choosing a photographer, you need to make sure you're getting someone who knows photography. Ask what camera they use. What editing software they use.

Ask if they know the rule of thirds, if they shoot manual, auto, or some hybrid of the two. I've been taking pictures since the mid 1980's (Nearly 30 years of photography). Landscape, sports, wedding, family, special events, fireworks, lightning, you name it . . . I've probably shot it. My main camera is the Canon T4i, and most time I shoot in what is called Aperture priority, and take a RAW and J

PG picture at the same time. RAW allows more flexibility when it comes time to edit the pictures. RAW is basically a digital negative (going old school there if you don't know what a negative is.) My editing is done with Photoshop. In most cases I'll edit and provide 3 formats of the picture. One formatted to print 4x6, one to print 5x7, and one to print 8x10. Because of how todays' world works (aka digital mediums), I don't hard print any pictures, but provide them to you on a CD with a print release.

New Pool. Raising the R, Motel/bank, townhomes, State consolidated building.
Richfield Pool: Parking area's have been paved and painted. Not much else to see this week.
Raising the R: Oh look at that. Some of the supports are starting to be installed. Their facebook post says hopefully for first game of the year it will be up, but more likely homecoming.
Motel/Bank: Won't update until construction starts again.
Townhomes: This week they put down most of the curb that will be on the east side of the homes and started work on the parking/driveway area.
State Building: Started the framing for the foundations. South East area of the building area looks like they are building a huge runoff retention pond area.

New Pool. Raising the R, Motel/bank, townhomes, State consolidated building.
Richfield Pool: Heavy equipment moved from parking area. Weather permitting should be paved on Monday.
Raising the R: Not sure what it is, but a black box has appeared near the foundation. Their facebook post says hopefully for first game of the year it will be up, but more likely homecoming.
Motel/Bank: Won't update until construction starts again.
Townhomes: Building painting completed. scaffolding has been removed. Took a couple minutes to figure out what was different. Then aaah-haaa white vinyl fence is up around the property line.
State Building: Work continuing on foundation preparation. Looked like they were removing the tree debis.

Had a little free time this week. That means it's video time. Progression video that starts with the new Richfield City pool. Then the new townhomes on 800 South. Finally, work on the new state consolidated office building on College Ave.

Richfield Pool: Not much change, looks like parking area is about ready for pavement.
Raising the R: Due to being just outside the TFR -- no picture this week. Took a lower look and no activity. Their facebook post says hopefully for first game of the year it will be up, but more likely homecoming.
Motel/Bank: Won't update until construction starts again.
Townhomes: Looks like they have painted some of the building and removed some scaffolding. Tape and stuff inside the windows so my guess is painting the inside as well.
State Building: Can see the outline of where the building will be now.

Richfield Pool: Looked like a little more work on the parking area. No way to look inside this week.

Extra pictures. Picture showing the "Red line" for the Temporary Flight Restrictions for the widemouth 2 fire. Basically runs along I-70. To the west is flight restrictions. I fly on the East side. The line may change over the next week or two. If it moves further East over Richfield, then I will have to stop putting the drone in the air. The other picture is the sign up on College ave showing a rendering of the new State Building.

New Pool. Raising the R, Motel/bank, townhomes, State consolidated building.
Richfield Pool: Parking area's getting more defined with curb and sidewalk. Tried for a sneak peek inside. Kind of flying blind doing it. The first picture is what I see on the controller (the black window), then what it looks like after running it through photoshop. Can't tell if there is water in it or not. But looks like the plaster is done and tile for the lane markings.
Raising the R: Don't see anything new (you'll get pics each week because I can't see what's happened till the drone is in the air. so might as well take a picture right?)
Motel/Bank: Won't update until construction starts again.
Townhomes: Doesn't look like they have done anything on the outside. Didn't see any work trucks during the week..
State Building: They brought in a backhoe, front end loader and porta potties. Didn't see any other work.

New Pool. Raising the R, Motel/bank, townhomes, State consolidated building.
Richfield Pool: Work has continued on the paring areas. Windows and doors have been installed on West side of the building. When conditions allow I'm going to try another sneek peek inside. Some days the plastic is down off the last panel that needs to be installed. Just too many people under where I'd need to fly to see inside the two times I went by.

Townhomes: Didn't look like they did any work outside this week. Only saw a couple of vehicles in the parking area this week.
State Building: A year ago, maybe two -- on the capital improvements budget the legislature passed -- they had a "consolidated building" for Richfield. The State web site showed it would be for DPS, Drivers License, Motor vehicles, Workforce services and others. This week the Construction office trailer was put on site and they have started to put stakes in the ground for the building layout.

Richfield Pool: Work has continued on the paring areas. They have covered all but one little spot with canvas, and plastic over the last hole. No more sneak peeks inside . . . . maybe.

Townhomes: They have put a layer of I'm guessing stucco on the building and some of the scaffolding is coming down.
