We teach a simple, step-by-step shooting + editing system
So your photos are sharp, bright, and consistent. MEET THE TWINS:

We are Erin and Emily! We are identical twins and were born just 10 minutes apart. When we were born, the only difference was the bump on Erin’s ear. To this day, we still look super identical and people have a hard time telling us apart. The only difference, besides the bum

p on Erin’s ear, is that Emily doesn’t have her ears pierced! We grew up together in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. At an early age, we got involved in sports and loved working out. We then went to college to be science teachers and got jobs back in our hometown of Rice Lake. We have also found ourselves coaching basketball, track, and cross country. Eventually, we found that we wanted something more to do in the summer months, to hang out more, and use our creativity. This led us into E-squared Photography and where we are today! We spent a lot of time taking photos of our own kids, but realized we wanted to do more with trying to capture the little moments for others in our lives. We have enjoyed meeting new people and spending time in their most memorable moments. We fell in love with finding the creativity in shots and seeing the reactions of our friends who receive their galleries. FUN FACTS: ERIN

-I always have to add hot sauce or red peppers to spice up my meals.
-I love getting up early in the morning and then taking a mid-morning nap.
-I cry during commercials, talk shows, reality TV shows, and pretty much anything.
-I change into sweats within 20 minutes of being home most of the time.
-I have been eating peanut butter and honey toast for breakfast, every single day since I met my husband.
-I love organizing my closet when I get bored.
-I know almost any 90’s country song. Especially if it is by George Strait or Alan Jackson. FUN FACTS: EMILY
-I have a dangerous obsession with pizza and could eat it seven days a week.
-You will find me laughing hard on the couch at the show Super Store and Impractical Jokers.
-I don’t have my ears pierced because I don’t enjoy shopping for jewelry.
-My dream would be to be paid to travel with my family.
-Casa Mexicana (a local Mexican restaurant) is a weekly tradition in my household.
-Someday, I hope I secretly get mistaken for Carrie Underwood.

Photographers, your work isn’t for everyone.

And that’s actually a GOOD thing.

It’s really easy to scroll Instagram, see another photographer’s work, and immediately start questioning yours.

Should I edit warmer?
Should I make my images moodier?
Should I pose like that?
Should I change my entire editing style at 11:47 p.m.? 😅

Nope.

The goal isn’t to create photos that every single person loves.

The goal is to create work that feels like YOU, so the right clients see it and think, “Yep. That’s exactly what I want.”

Some people will love bright and clean.
Some will love dark and moody.
Some will love posed.
Some will love candid.

So stop trying to make your photography look like everyone else’s.

Keep learning. Keep practicing. Keep getting more consistent.

But give yourself permission to create work that feels like yours.

Because your work isn’t for everyone.

And that’s exactly what makes it special. 📸

Our goal is simple:

Keep your ISO as low as you can while still keeping your shutter speed and aperture where they need to be.

A few starting points:

☀️ Sunny day: ISO 100
☁️ Cloudy day: ISO 200 to 400
🏠 Indoors: ISO 800 to 2000+

But remember, these are starting points. Your light and your other settings matter too.

Save this for later so you have it the next time you’re staring at your camera wondering, “Okay... now what do I do with ISO?” 😅

And if you want to see how ISO, shutter speed, and aperture all work TOGETHER...

Photographers are basically part-time software jugglers. 😅

Editing software. Booking software. Gallery software. Invoicing software.

And somehow we’re supposed to actually take photos too?!

So when we find a tool that can handle more than ONE part of our workflow, we’re listening.

We use ShootProof for our photo delivery, but it does a whole lot more than send pretty galleries to our clients.

Inside ShootProof, we can:

📸 Deliver images in professional, branded galleries
📸 Control how clients download their photos
📸 Sell prints and products directly through their gallery
📸 Set up automated emails and reminders
📸 Manage contracts, invoices, payments, and bookings

If your photos are coming out a little softer than you’d like, your shutter speed might be the problem. 📸

A simple rule we use:

Keep your shutter speed at least 2x your focal length to help avoid blur from camera shake.

So if you’re shooting with a 50mm lens, start around 1/100th of a second or faster.

Save this post for later so you can pull it up before your next session.

And if manual mode still feels like a whole lot of numbers you’re supposed to magically understand...

Manual mode does NOT have to feel like you’re pressing buttons and hoping for the best. 😂📸

ISO. Shutter speed. Aperture.

Once you understand what each one actually does AND how they work together, manual mode starts to make a whole lot more sense.

And if you’re still trying to figure it out, we’ve got you.

We recently taught a training all about manual mode, and we have the replay ready for you!

We break it down step-by-step so you can stop guessing at your settings and start understanding WHY you’re choosing them.

Because your camera is not broken. You just need a plan. 😉

Saying “no” as a photographer can feel SO uncomfortable at first.

No to the session you don’t really want to take.

No to the friend asking for a discount.

No to squeezing one more shoot into an already packed weekend.

No to offering something just because a client asked.

And then comes the fun part... spending the next 48 hours wondering if you made the wrong decision. 😅

But every time you protect a boundary, you’re getting a little clearer about the kind of photography business you actually want to build.

One that works for your life.

One where you value your time AND your work.

And one where saying “no” doesn’t automatically send you into an existential crisis. 😂

We want to know:

What’s something you’ve gotten more comfortable saying NO to in your photography business?

Photographers, you need to hear this. 👇

Another preset probably isn’t going to fix the problem.

A new camera probably isn’t either.

And saving 47 more random tips to your phone definitely isn’t helping. 😅

If you want more consistent photos, start with light.

Because good light affects EVERYTHING.

Where we put our clients.
Where we stand.
What settings we choose.
How skin tones look.
How much work we have to do in editing.

And if you’re thinking, “Okay cool... but how do I actually FIND good light?”

That’s exactly what we teach inside our $47 Lighting Crash Course.

We take you behind the scenes and show you how we location scout, what we’re actually looking for when we arrive at a location, and how we choose where to shoot.

Not just, “Look for good light.”

Because... helpful. 😂

We actually SHOW you what we’re looking at and why we make the decisions we do.

So instead of showing up to your next session, looking around, and thinking, “Ummm... I guess we’ll shoot here?”

You have a plan.

Your camera is not broken.

You don’t need another preset.

You need to understand light.

Comment CRASH and we’ll send you the details on our $47 Lighting Crash Course. 📸

Photographers, if editing an entire gallery is eating up WAY too much of your time… you need to know about Imagen!

Because let’s be honest.

We love photography.

Sitting at our computer editing hundreds of images one by one? Maybe a little less. 😂

Imagen uses AI to learn your editing style and can help you get through your galleries SO much faster while keeping your edits consistent.

And no, the goal isn’t to hand over your creativity to a robot.

It’s to spend less time doing repetitive edits and more time actually running your business, shooting sessions, or you know… leaving your computer once in a while.

If you’re working a full-time job, photographing sessions on evenings and weekends, AND trying to keep up with editing, saving time matters.

A lot.

That’s why Imagen has become one of those tools we think photographers should know about.

Want to try it?

You know shutter speed has something to do with motion…

But when you’re actually at a session, you’re still thinking:

“Wait. Should I make this number higher or lower?” 😅

We get it.

Shutter speed is simply how long your camera lets light in.

A faster shutter speed helps freeze motion.

A slower shutter speed lets in more light, but it can also create motion blur.

That’s it. Let’s not make this harder than it has to be. 😂

And shutter speed is just ONE piece of shooting in manual mode.

If you’re still adjusting ISO, shutter speed, and aperture and basically hoping the photo looks right, we recently taught a FREE manual mode training that breaks it all down step-by-step.

No random tips. No confusing camera jargon.

Just a simple explanation of what your settings are doing and how they work together so you can stop guessing.
