I have always wanted to see the Roseate Spoonbill birds. I finally saw some of these unique birds on a recent visit to South Padre Island. What a treat to watch them wading in the shallow water and using their long spoon-shaped bills to scoop up food. I am excited to add these beautiful birds to my Life Bird List!

We had a short get-away to the Big Bend region of Texas where we took some hikes to enjoy the desert's scenic beauty.

Here are a few of my favorite photos from our trip to California and back through Colorado. We drove about 4300 miles and visited 8 states. This is such a beautiful country with so many different landscapes. I can’t wait to see more places in future vacations!
