ICP bookfair was fun with table of books that was thoughtfully put together by Went to book signing at 3 for her newest book Four sides of the table. Saw old friends and new… too many to mention. Got to have a dreamy Mother’s Day with daughters which included going to MoMa to see Duchamp and African Photography. Came home to other daughter, Violet, flowers and gifts. Bittersweet feeling of gratitude and loss of Joann Meeks who passed a couple of months ago. A true star of motherhood and love for all her children and grandchildren including my daughters as her own. She will be missed but will live on in us always. ♥️

Please join Caroline Waller () and I for this very special opening on Saturday, May 17 from 4-8p at the 6 Montgomery, Tivoli, NY 12583.

We are showing work we made together while cold plunging in the River through the winter. Our experiences of dipping in the river during the winter months have transformed our relationships between the inner world of body and mind to the world we live in.

The photographs I made and the pottery Caroline made will be available for sale. The exhibition will be up from May 17 until June 1.

Please note a previous version of this post stated the opening reception and exhibition was on March 17th. Corrected information is above.

✨Repost from about ‘Photobook II: From Project to Press’!

If you have work you want to make into a photobook, CPW has a spring class that will clarify and launch your vision, conceptually and practically. “Photobook II: From Project to Press,” taught by photographer Adrianna Ault, is a small, hands-on, 10-week course designed to transform your developed body of work into a maquette.

More info and sign up, cpw.org/classes OR link in bio.

In this class, students will learn how to push their work from a project to a visual narrative by making a maquette. Work will be critiqued in class in order to build new skills, including pairing and sequencing a narrative, creating a corresponding design and layout, and preparing files for a publisher or press. You will experiment with papers, cover materials, and binding types. Class time will be supplemented with guest speakers and a publisher visit. In the last three weeks, students will learn about the CPW printing press and apply their new knowledge to making a maquette. Engaging discourse, project growth, and increasing working knowledge of the photo book are all outcomes of “Photobook II: From Project to Press”

March 5 – May 7, 2025, every Wednesday, 6-9pm.
2nd floor classroom at 25 Dederick Street, Kingston, NY.
CLASS LIMIT: 7
CPW MEMBER TUITION: $1,000
NON-MEMBER TUITION: $1,150

I am pleased to announce that my most recent released artist book, ‘Through a River Darkly’, is available for purchase on my website, just in time for the holidays. I’ve made a small edition of 60 archival artist books.

Originally made to accompany the special edition of Levee (edition of 20), ‘Through the River Darkly’ bridges the landscape of the Mississippi to below the surface of the water. This 8.5 x 11 inch cover is printed with pigment inkjet on film and mounted to acid free archival paper. The inside of the book is UV printed on Mohawk Superfine paper.

Purchase is available at https://www.adriannaault.com/purchase/p/through-a-river-darkly.

I am grateful and excited to share that I am teaching another workshop a bit closer to home titled ‘The Photobook: A Personal Practice’ at The Center for Photography at Woodstock in Kingston, NY this fall. I am particularly excited about the long-form nature of this workshop, allowing participants to dig deep into their work together over 10 weeks.

Meeting on Tuesdays from 6-8pm from September 17th through November 19th, we’ll work together on a project you’re envisioning as a future book project. By the end of this workshop, you’ll not only have a refined body of work influenced by your peers but also you’ll become much more familiar with CPW’s incredible Digital Media Lab.

To keep our conversations and focus intimate, the class size is limited to seven people. Tuition is $1,000 for CPW members and $1,150 for non-members. Sign ups close September 3rd! Two need-based tuition scholarships are available. Please email me or education [at] cpw [dot] org for more information and take a look at their website!
