During those years I have experimented, documented and "played" with creating lasting images of landscapes, still life settings, daily family life, and portraiture of loved ones. What was once a "hobby" has transformed, much like woodworking, into a creative process that I am beginning to explore with passion and an artistic mind. Unlike using a studio with set lighting and back-drops, I like to t
hink "out of the box", and use various lighting configurations to create unique and artistic photos. My creative process is not based on any "discipline" that was learned or taught to me by others. Creative design starts in my head to create an artistic expression of the "vision" I see in my mind, and bring to fruition in the photo. I like to use various interesting indoor or outdoor settings to create a suggestion of a story, or to promote an emotion in those who view the photo. In working with the individual I'm photographing, I like to help them relax and enjoy being a part of the creative process by integrating their creative ideas and emotions with mine to express a distinctive finished product.
