How was the wedding? …idk, it’s all a blur now. One minute we’re at 8,200 feet as Aaron and Lynn publicly promise forever, next thing I know there are giant red wax lips being passed around at the dub. Also…there was a lot of chocolate cake. My dream amount, to be precise. Truly an iconic Palisades wedding.

When working with couples, I like to have just enough information to do my job well and leave the rest untouched. It keeps a sense of novelty and magic. I prefer not to know too much about who you are before the wedding day (which is also why I don’t photograph friend’s weddings). I love discovering people in real time and being genuinely enamored by them. Essentially, I want it to feel like a first date. It creates space for you to show up exactly as you wish to be seen. And on a day that is so elevated, you might even discover a new version of yourself.

For example, I didn’t think it was possible for Prathima to exceed my expectations on our first date. Her creativity showed in every detail she touched throughout the wedding. She was present with herself, but also deeply aware of others, making sure everyone felt taken care of. At one point, she even placed a bindi on me and she sent me a mango lassi during cocktail hour, which honestly, who thinks to send essentially a stranger a drink on their wedding day? Prathima does. I could go on, but I would definitely go on a second date.

17 days until love season begins. When you lead with heart and good taste, the rest just falls into place💕

About a year and a half into their relationship, Cat and Hannah Marie knew they were in it for the long haul. During a quiet afternoon at an art museum, Hannah Marie asked Cat to marry her, saying, “It has been the biggest privilege of my life to love you. Will you marry me?” Cat, of course, said yes. A few weeks later, Cat flipped the script with a surprise proposal of her own on Lookout Mountain, turning a casual hike into a moment neither of them will ever forget.

Fast forward to their wedding day, where they promised forever in front of their favorite people and sang Pink Pony Club at the top of their lungs on stage. The details were the cherry on top. From the custom Tahoe-inspired stationery (easily some of the prettiest I’ve ever seen) to the thoughtful pink-everything woven throughout the day. Truly a dream day 💕🥂

This one is a forever memory, because my favorite and only sibling is engaged. It’s been so sweet to witness him try to make everything perfect. From helping him pick a ring, to searching for the right location, hiding the ring, changing locations and ideas, having her grandpa make the ring box, and even surprising family during our trip.

Then it all unfolded perfectly imperfectly on the sands of Mexico. I completely blacked out while hitting the shutter for this one, but I vividly remember hearing happy tears.

This whole thing was meant to be a “fun party with some silly little vows in the middle” in their words. And it was that and so much more. The vows were actually incredible and the party absolutely delivered.

A couple things you should know. One, Sophie’s original wedding dress was ruined, so she bought a new one just a week before this grand celebration. A standing ovation feels appropriate for looking this good and completely unbothered. Two, the guest dress code was bold and playful… solid colors, prints, patterns, velvet, silk, lace, metallic touches, and a little sparkle.

Cheers to marriage and to this being my final wedding of the season. Sophie and Sam, you were such a vibe.
