It’s finally here!! My first art show as a portrait photographer!

THE JOY PROJECT

On Sunday, August 2 my exhibition, The Joy Project, opens at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Northern Nevada in Reno, featuring 13 powerful black and white portraits of Reno/Sparks residents who know what it’s like to sometimes feel invisible.

These honest, joyful portraits reveal the light that exists in every body and every life. My hope is that viewers see themselves reflected, remember the joy in their own imperfect beauty, and leave with a renewed sense of connection, belonging, and joy— anything but invisibility.

The opening reception and artist’s talk is at 12 pm, and the show is made possible through a grant from the Nevada Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts and the state of Nevada.
