I am often asked what the airports are like in the Cook Islands. Rarotonga is an international airport with arrival flights of jumbo jets from airlines like Hawaiian Airlines, Air New Zealand, and JetStar whereas the outer islands are serviced by Air Rarotonga, the domestic airline using 15 or 34 seat twin prop aircraft. It is always like coming home when you arrive. Travelers are greeted with warm hearts and open arms by the local Cook Islanders and representatives from the resort they are staying at. The reps always have a fresh, hand made Cook Island 'Ei (floral necklace/garland) that smells amazing. Some resorts also offer you a fresh, cold Nu (young coconut) to drink. This is Motokitiu in the Aitutaki lagoon. It is the most southeast motu in the lagoon. You can see One Foot Island in the distance.
