Now that summer is officially here and the school year has wrapped up, it’s so easy to feel the pressure to make every single day perfect. But family life is busy and so loud. The best parts of summer usually happen in the middle moments. The impromptu popsicle stops, the water balloon fights, and the chaotic lake days.
If today didn't go exactly as planned, or if everyone was a little cranky adjusting to the routine shift, don't sweat it, tomorrow is another day and we get to choose a new path.

Dressing a newborn in Central Oregon right now can feel like a full-time job. One minute it’s a beautiful 80 degrees outside, and the next we’re dropping back into the 50s.
If you’re currently surviving on three hours of sleep and spending half your day adding and removing swaddles trying to figure out if your baby is too hot or too cold… you are not alone. I remember those days with my own kids like it was yesterday.

If you're taking your tiny baby out this week, don't overthink it. Stick to breathable cotton layers and trust your gut. You're doing a wonderful job navigating the crazy weather swings.

It's a blessing and a curse having an in-home studio. The blessing, I can do the reset whenever I'm home. The curse, I have to do the reset whenever I'm home.

Finding that work/life balance when my office it a few steps away from my bedroom is hard, but honestly at this moment in my life I don't want it any other way. I get to work on my business while being able to pause and help my kids with a homeschool lesson whenever they need it. I don't have to get a babysitter or work opposite hours then my husband to get the job done. I fill the cracks of my day with studio, sessions, rests and clean ups. I Edit photos and planning future sessions while sitting along side them, and only have to miss the moments of my kids younger years a few times a week when I take a family session that is not in the studio. Right now, I am so grateful for that.

Did you know that every family photo session I come with a prize bag full of goodies for your kiddos.
This little trick that I came up with really helps kids get excited and loosen up for a fun photoshoot.
When I meet them I let them know I have a special prize bag with me and after the session they get to see what is in it and pick a prize.
It gets them so excited and ready to go.
But don't worry mama's I don't pack candy and sugar in their for them, because I know so many of you (like myself) don't like having all that extra sugar, especially right before bed. What is in my bag? Fun things like play flutes, glow sticks, rings and bracelets, and other cute toys for kiddos to have fun with.
This, along with so many other things is how I get those fun and HAPPY photos for the families I shoot for.

Did you know...
If you book a session with me and do not want your kids or family shown online then that is completely okay.
I completely understand families being concerned about their kids images being shown online and am happy to keep them off my social media if you request so.
All you have to do is just let me know either at the time of booking (there is a spot on the questionnaire you can say this) or in our conversations leading up to the session.
My business is here to serve you, not myself. As much as I love getting those sweet pictures and sharing them, in the end they are yours and I honor your request for how they are shared.

I love personalizing every newborn session for every family.
So how does that happen?
When you book a session with me you first get a questionnaire that is all about you, your newborn, and a few easy questions about your vision ... Colors you love, colors you hate, and other simple things like that.
Then we have as much (or as little) communication as you want to get things set up.
When you arrive for your session you then get to have one more look at all the props, colors, and options for your session. You might walk in and move everything I pulled. Or maybe you will want to switch to a different blue, pink, or grey. That is totally fine and can change things however we need.
This is your baby. This is your session. These are your memories. They should be your vision.

It is not too late to get in on the Motherhood Series before it’s gone!

I only have a few dates left to book these sessions, and once spring ends, this series goes with it.

So, what exactly is the Motherhood Series?

Think of it as my regular, full-length session, but with a major bonus. This session gives you the freedom to choose the location, date, and time that works best for your family. No rigid, tiny blocks of time at a location I chose, and absolutely no feeling rushed. Plus, you get all of your digital images included for a special price of $300.

Message me to grab one of the last spots and book your session!

Photographing those tiny details for a newborn shoot is so incredibly important to me. These are those details that will change so quickly and once they are gone we cannot get them back. Lets make sure you can always look back at photos and remember them.
