"The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera" Dorothea Lange. I started taking photos in 1979 and worked part-time in a camera store. I was blessed by working with several employees that had gone to school at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. One of the employees had a studio where I learned the art of capturing images. We had several modeling agencies which sent us, up and coming models to have their photo's taken for the agency. We also ran into models that were getting married so naturally, they wanted us to cover the wedding. I branched out on my own and started doing work in all fields. My skills include capturing, keepsake portraits, model portfolios, weddings, social events, commercial advertising. I went back to school after working in film to check out digital and work in the future of photography. I have never lost my enjoyment of taking photos and expanding my skills. I attended The College for Creative Studies and Wayne County Community College. I carry a 4.0 GPA at both schools. I received 6 Finalist awards from Photographer's Forum Magazine worldwide contest which I entered in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018 Best of Photography publications. I was featured in the Wayne County Community College Art Exhibition, 2013 and 2014. I received 2 honorable mentions in the International Photographers Awards in 2013, and 1 honorable mention in 2019. I was a Scholastic Art Awards juror for photography entries 2016, College for Creative Studies. I price all my jobs to the needs of the client.
