Wedding photography & videography has opened me up to so many different experiences over the years! Robin & Ian’s wedding is one I’m grateful for ♥️ They invited me to capture their temple exit in Anchorage after celebrating their marriage the day before in Salcha. It was so cool to be part of the moment of anticipation with the families as they lined up outside the temple doors, waiting to see them, now officially has husband and wife!!

I’ve photographed many religious ceremonies over the years - Christian, Greek Orthodox, Jewish — This was my first Mormon LDS celebration - it was an honor!!

Sally Jo & Lee ♥️ What an adventure!!!! We spent the afternoon driving the Going To The Sun Road, stopping at gorgeous spots along the way and getting to know each other on the most gorgeous scenic drive. They said their “I Do”s in a place that means so much to them, the place they got engaged - Glacier National Park. It was perfect. It was effortless. It was genuine.

I love you two and I’m so grateful we met! It was honor to be part of the day and I truly enjoyed every moment of it. Move to Alaska? 🥺🥺

Bridal sessions : let’s chat about it!

I’ve been loving the idea of bridal sessions more and more lately! Having the opportunity to take couples portraits on a separate day from the wedding can be common in some areas of the states, like Alaska, and rare/unheard of in other areas, like the east coast. But I’m loving it for two main reasons!

1. You get to explore and take pictures in an awesome place!! No matter where your ceremony is, you can still have insane wedding photos. Whether you get married in city hall or courthouse, or if your wedding venue doesn’t have a great outdoor space, it doesn’t matter! If you can just go somewhere else if the background matters to you!

2. You can be even more present on your wedding day! Especially for couples who do not do a first look and have traditional ceremonies where they see each other for the first time down the aisle. On days like those, couples often times spend more time away from the reception taking photos. When there is a strict one hour cocktail hour with a schedule to keep, it can be a bummer to not have the chance to mingle with guests. Doing a bridal session takes something big off your plate on the wedding day, granting you more time to be present and immersed in your day!

I love being able to see weddings of all kinds! Though my heart is leaning more towards outdoor adventure elopements, I still love traditional wedding days and do my best to give the best experience possible to everyone I cross paths with ♥️

This air bnb log cabin in Palmer at the bottom of Hatcher Pass is a new up and coming wedding venue! So excited to follow along on their journey and hopefully back one day. It’s the cutest property for the ultimate backyard wedding vibes and personal cabin for a bridal suite and place to crash after the wedding. So perfect!

My favorite short and sweet groom poses!

1. Adjusting their outfit: jacket, tie, collar [it draws attention to their details and takes their mind off of the camera]
2. A lean: resting a hand or shoulder on a wall, tree, chair etc [looks classy without being boring]
3. Details: focus on different parts of the outfit like shoes, boutonnière, watch [gives them a break from staring at the camera]
4. A walk: unbutton the jacket and walk [movement makes the most natural photos]

Hey it’s me, Meghan!

I just got engaged, just moved to Alaska, and just celebrated 5 years in business! 🥳💍🏔️🪻

Weddings are my happy place. I can’t imagine my life any other way now. I love getting to know couples, witnessing them get married, seeing the ways they love each other, and turning their special days into works of art. Everyone has their own beautiful life that is unique to them and it’s so cool getting to see people’s differences and showcase it in a meaningful way.

Some random facts about me:

- We have a cat named Fat Balls
- I have two tattoos, sun and stars—imagery that reminds me of CT sunsets and Alaska night skies
- I have two film cameras, pre loved by my fiancé’s grandfather and pre loved by my own
- Editing is secretly my favorite part of the job
- I’d love to fly back to visit my favorite CT venues again 👀
- Most days I wake up with no plan, I just do stuff
