Look at those eyes! Last evening, we found a juvenile Red-tailed Hawk perched in a tree on the edge of the bluff at Memorial Park in Red Wing. It was windy and his parents were floating high in the updraft, but it seemed like he didn't want to join them.

This one’s for you honey. This morning at Colvill Park in Red Wing, a pair of eagles perched above the river while we sat on a bench. One of the pair dropped down to the water and struggled to pull up a big fish, and it was too big to carry away. He pulled it to shore, then flew away. The second eagle then came down and feasted on the huge fish. I guess he did it for her.

Hummingbirds galore. A bunch of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds were flying around Flower Valley Orchards Flower Farm today. They love the variety of flowers at the farm. There are plenty of flowers for everyone, but they still fight over the territory.
