There was a time when I shot everything on location. Packing up my car, hauling gear in and out, spending hours setting up and breaking down.
From there, I went to shooting in my uncle‘s basement who was kind enough to offer it to me, help guide, me lend me things and believe in me.
Then renting a studio here and there.
Then a tiny office in a shared space for a few months. Then to signing a lease with a colleague and hoping I could sustain, I paid to clean it up paint all the walls refresh everything put furniture in it, but couldn’t bring myself to spend money on putting my name on the doors and outside sign… there was a fear that it just wouldn’t work…
And now… here we are. Two years in and finally my name on the door. Thank you for the birthday gift!
It sounds small, but it isn’t to me.
Having a secure place to create, to meet families, to store equipment, to design albums, to edit late into the night it’s something I once only hoped I’d grow into. A space where if someone calls, I can say, “Yes, come by.” A space that feels stable. Safe. Mine.
There is so much that goes into running a business that people don’t always see. Rent. Insurance. Equipment. Software. Products. Education. Time. So much time. The behind-the-scenes hours that never make it to social media.
So when I say thank you to my clients, and to my husband how has supported me helped me and believed in me I truly mean it.
Thank you to the families who understand that pricing reflects not just a session, but years of growth, investment, experience, and care. Thank you for valuing the work, the products, the details, and the heart that go into every single thing I deliver.
None of this happened overnight. It was built slowly. Thoughtfully. Sometimes nervously.
But standing here now two years in I feel grateful. And proud. And excited for what’s still ahead.
From basement shoots to a name on the door. ❤️
Thank you for being part of the journey.🙏
