Merry Christmas to all!!! Just a friendly reminder to everyone that most wrapping paper is recyclable!!! If it tears like printer paper, doesn't have wax or glitter on it, it can be recyclable. Give our world a cleaner holiday by recycling your paper, cardboard, reusing bows next year, etc. Santa would be happy to see less trash when he rides to everyone's house each year!!

What can I say, 3rd day officially helping with data collection at Powdermill Nature Reserve, and we catch this rare bird.

The Kirkland Warbler is a bird that was on the endangered species list for 50 years, but have an increasing population taking them off the endangered species list in 2019. This by no means allude to not being in trouble.

Continue helping these bird population and other bird population by growing native trees and plants.

This is Leonard, the tamandua!!

You may ask what a tamandua is, and it's a great question. It is considered a lesser anteater that lives in South America. They are able to climb like a sloth but much quicker. They have a Prehensile tail that helps them move around their environment.

Would you like to meet one? Make sure to visit the Pittsburgh Zoo's website and look into the wildlife encounters. It's a great experience and an amazing gift for your animal lovers.

I was very impressed with the facilities at 🛖 The animals had great enclosures, the education building was top notch, and the supplemental information was superb. Also loved seeing the conservation program for these amazing red wolves 🐺!! Highly recommended visiting if you get the chance.
